🤤🤤🤤🍫 How gorgeous is my cute lil niece !! Not so little anymore tho, today we did her graduation hair😍 🎓

This may look like a simple color, but she was with me about 3-3.5 hours today. Her mid to ends were bleached out from being bright blue previously, which was faded to green and hanging onto those porus ends for dear life💚 So I debated trying to remove the green but decided because we wanted a rich brunette, and I didn't want to inflict anymore abuse on her ends, I decided to fill the blonde with a level 8, and a lot of 6AA🧡 to neutralize the faded green instead. She was shocked when I put practicly orange on her green and we watched it turn brown. That is always my favorite part of color theory🎨 🤩
Once we were at an even canvas about a level 7/8 from root to ends, I did an all over color with just in case she doesn't want to commit 100% to this color (Cuz we all know she will want to change it in a few months🤣)

It was still super dramatic from her natural color, but very classy and expensive looking! 😍 And the girl has beautiful green eyes that popped after going darker 💚

Well, believe it! She has worn these for almost a year, and taken such amazing care of them!! 👌

Today, we went a little darker and gave them a healthy little trim. Because just like your natural hair, they get thin on the ends and suffer the same stress and damage as our NATURAL hair does, because they are REAL HAIR, TOO🤷‍♀️

She's been wanting for years to go darker and today was the day😎 We did a slightly darker root, and melted that into a lighter chocolaty brown allowing still for some dimension to show through, from her previously lightened pieces.

We choose today to go darker since she will be getting new hair in the spring and going LONGER... because her natural has grown almost to the same length of her extensions 😲

We choose a demi-permanent color, that way we can go lighter in the spring if she wants without compromising her hair🙌

Is your Hair not growing past a certain length? Looking or feeling thinner on the ends? Split ends that have split ends? Not holding a curl?

Stay ahead of split ends and damage by getting regular trims. Hair grows about 1/2 an inch a month. Add to that daily heat styling, messy buns, brushing vigorously , sleeping on it, chlorinated water or high mineral buildup from our regular water... you name it! Our hair takes a beating!

Regular trims should be scheduled every 6-8 weeks depending on your level of abuse 😆and your cut (shorter hairs needs the sooner end of that 6-8 weeks to keep its shape and style)

TRY IT! Start getting regular trims at regular intervals and I guarantee your hair will feel like its gaining length faster! 🫶

After having sudden and very severe breakage, this sweet girl landed in my chair in tears. We did a consultation and discovered more than likely the root cause of the breakage. Believe it or not it was a very high end product just being over used ...one size does not fit all with at home hair care regimes. And what works short term may not be needed long term. Too much protein can indeed cause this kind of breakage. Hair care is like an RX it needs to be followed up on, possibly changed and continously adjusted.

Everything we go through our hair goes through and is continuously changing.

To help this client through the grow out process we decided to do 22 inch tape in extensions and I customer colored her delicate hair and color matched her extensions to it .

If installed correctly tape ins will sandwhich and protect the natural hair, allowing it to grow.

I changed her at home care immediately and will be following up every 5 to 6 weeks for extension maintenance and to check in on at home product care/usage.

A CONVERSATION ABOUT PERCEIVED VALUE:

A customer asked a contractor friend of mine how much it would cost to do this project.

My friend gave him a proposal: $4500

The customer responded: That’s seems really high.

My friend asked: What do you think is a reasonable price for this job?

The customer answered: $2500 maximum

My friend responded: Ok, then I invite you to do it yourself.

The customer answered: I don't know how to.

My friend responded: Alright, then how about for $2500 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $2000, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future.

The customer answered: Sounds good! Let’s do it!

My friend responded: Great! To get started, you are going to need some tools. You will need a chop saw, table saw, cordless drill, bit set, router, skill saw, jig saw, tool belt, hammer, etc..

The customer answered: But I don't have any of those tools and I can't justify buying all of these for one job.

My friend responded: Ok. Well then for an additional $300 I can rent my tools to you to use for this project.

The customer answered: Okay. That’s fair.

My friend responded: Great! We will start the project on Monday.

The customer answered: I work Monday through Friday. I’m only available on the weekends.

My friend responded: If you want to learn from me then you will need to work when I work. This project will take 3 days so you will need to take 3 days off work.

The customer answered: That means I’m going to have to sacrifice my pay for 3 days or use my vacation time!

My friend responded: That’s true. Remember, when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors.

The customer answered: What do you mean by that?

My friend responded: Doing a job completely from start to finish includes time spent to plan the project, pick up materials, travel time, gas, set up time, clean up, and waste disposal amongst other things. That’s all in addition to the actual project itself. And speaking of materials, that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me at the lumberyard at 6:00am.

The customer answered: At 6am?!! My work day doesn’t usually start until 8am!

My friend responded: Well then you’re in luck! My plan is to start on the deck build by 8am. But to do so we have to start at 6am to get materials picked up, loaded and delivered to your job site.

The customer answered: You know, I’m realizing that a lot more goes in to a job than what a customer sees in the finished project. Your proposal of $4500 is very reasonable. I would like you to handle the project.

CONCLUSION:

When you pay for a job, especially a custom job, (whether it’s a physical project or digital project) you pay not only for the material and the work to be completed. You also pay for:
