Love when I get to do the slightest change up and it makes all the difference. We did a reverse balayage to add some depth back into Hollys hair. Took out one of her rows for an easier style during boating season. The second photo was from her last appointment when we went to platinum blonde.

Happy Fathers Day to this guy. He has always been someone I look up to, even though I’ve been taller than him since my freshman year of high school. He has always been there for me, at sports events, horse shows, life biggest moments. Anytime I need advice he has always given me the honest truth, even if I am in the wrong. I couldn’t ask for a better dad, and feel so lucky for the time I get with him.

This is how I feel whenever someone says owning a business is easy. You don’t know till you know. There is so much more involved than you think. It is a bumpy ride but it is a fun one.

Love doing big transitions. Did a full head of baby lights and toned with clear. This is a great example of why you shouldn’t mix anything till you wash. I had mixed a root shadow and toner I had in my mind I would use and when I brought Holly back to my station to tone. The color was perfect. So clear gloss and conditioner is all that was needed.

When you have education and knowledge it is powerful. But you have to practice to make it perfect. On average I do 2-4 extension clients per day that I work and it has helped me hone in my skills and make me a tad OCD. Instead of caring about how fast I can be it has become more about how perfect it can be, not just that first day. But everyday, and most importantly when my client comes back for a re-install. I love what I do and am so proud of how much I have improved. I know I have a lot more to learn, and can’t wait.

One of my favorite products this time of the year. Seems like everyone is have trouble with dry hair and dry/itchy scalp. Momo from is rich in water, vitamins and mineral salt to give a prolonged hydration.

And the smell is soft honeydew. Need I say more. So yummy!

Fresh hair for Fall!! 🍁

New hair days are always the best days. This lovely guest has one row of with 5 wefts of The Strand hair. We added a bit of length because she had out grown her previous installed hair which was first installed September 2021. When we started doing extensions on her she had an above the shoulder bob. If you swipe right you’ll be able to see what a clean grow out looks like for hand-tied extensions. She comes in every 8 weeks for her re-installs and color. For her color we use mask high lift series (12,13 + 40 vol) just around the face to give brightness without the damage traditional lightener causes.

So proud to have been doing cowboy coppers for 23+ years. Copper color has always been a love and speciality of mine. I love achieving a natural looking copper not a bright red or bright orange copper. It’s been a year since we took this lady from platinum blonde to copper. I love creating the perfect copper for each guest, thrrr are so many different options for copper that everyone should give it a try. 😉

Her look also includes 2 rows of custom colored for thickness and length. Best part is her extension hair is over a year old and still looks amazing.

This wedding has my heart. In 23+ years of doing hair + makeup for wedding I can honestly say it doesn’t get much better. I’ve been so lucky to some amazing clients with incredible stories. These two found each other and I believe they are the truest definition of soul mates. I feel so honored to be a part of this special day in celebrating Pilgram and Traci’s marriage.

I came away from this weekend with so much love and gratitude. It makes me excited for what is to come in the future.

“My name is Danielle, most people call me Dani! I grew up in a small town in Eastern Idaho called Driggs, which is right outside of Jackson Hole Wyoming! The reason why I wanted to do hair was because all throughout middle school and high school I always did my friends for school dances to cool braids before all basketball games. I moved to Boise almost three years ago to go to cosmetology school! I love to do lived in colors, dimensional brunettes, and bright beige blondes! I’ve been working with Shawna for almost 2 years and love the education I get while working in SH HAIR + MAKEUP. Some fun facts about me are I have two younger siblings, I used to ski race as a kid, my favorite coffee is an iced Irish cream breve from Dutch Bros.”

We love having Dani in our salon. Her energy and attitude are ones that light up a room. We are so proud to announce that Dani just got promoted to Senior Artist and will be helping train new stylists in our assistant program. We are so lucky to have her as part of our salon and wedding team.

Life gets so crazy sometimes I forget to pause and breath. I know I’m such a go getter. Everyone is always commenting “is there anything you don’t do?” I can say it’s always good to grow and learn new things but sometimes it is my curse. I forget to be quiet, I forget to set time aside for family and friends, and I forget to be content right where I am at. I’m not saying that drive is a bad thing, just make sure if you’re like me you don’t forget to recharge. This week especially I am having some major burnout symptoms and struggling. I’m struggling with feeling tired, eating poorly, brain fog, insomnia, and anxiety. I’m not looking for sympathy but I feel like I’m not alone in these feelings.

Something I’ve started is having a monthly calendar to write big events in. I tend to forget to look ahead and if I see an opening I fill it. I’m trying to vie my month as a whole instead of looking one day at a time.

What do you do to recharge? And stop burnout. It’s so hard when you genuinely love what you do and don’t feel like your working.

This year I decided to limit the number of weddings I took on and focus on being the best me I could be for each bride. I don’t feel like I’m darting all over the PNW. Instead I have hand selected brides who have some of the most amazing teams and want my style of hair + makeup. I feel inspired and passionate about bridal again. Deciding to cut back was one of the hardest and best things I’ve ever done.
