We experienced a full circle moment today with the winners of the 2024 St. Jude Dream Home! Jenna and Tom from our Berkeley Building Co. team had the honor of meeting this year’s winners, Louis and Nichole Flores of Meridian, ID and giving them a tour of their new home.

They discovered the Dream Home campaign at the annual 2x4 Lumber Signing event hosted by the Guide Team at Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate at The Village Meridian. At this event, the community comes together to write loving messages on the lumber used to frame the home. Ever since, the Flores family have been dedicated supporters.

Upon meeting and getting to know one another, Louis shared a touching story: St. Jude holds a special place in their hearts, as their 2nd cousin, Claire, received life-saving treatment for a brain tumor at St. Jude. During such a devastating time, the children’s hospital flew Claire’s entire family out at diagnosis and covered all of their living expenses for months of treatment. They have never received a bill from St. Jude. Now, Claire is 14 and living a happy, healthy life.

It takes a village to raise a family, especially when faced with the heartbreaking challenge of a sick child. Cancer affects families deeply, and St. Jude is connected to more people than we even realize. This is why we do what we do. We are beyond grateful to the community for supporting the largest St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway EVER, raising an incredible $3,077,700 to help find the cure for cancer.
