Ok, FB Peeps! I am about to launch the new "Arizona Photo Store" site. I was going through old posts to get a few comments to feature, and have a lot of one word comments (Awesome,Beautiful,Wonderful, etc.). I would LOVE it if some of you creative types could give me some meaty reviews that would be appropriate to feature on my home page! I'll post a few pictures in a row. Depending on engagement, I will be giving out freebies to the best contributors!

Lilac breasted roller in flight.

The lilac breasted roller (Coracias caudatus) one of my favourite birds to photograph. The plumage displays spectacular colors - white face, lilac throat and breast, varied shades of blue on the belly, wings and underparts and brown upper body. It is common for one or both of the tail shafts to be absent so this individual was a perfect specimen.

Every time one was spotted someone would enthusiastically call out "ROLLER" and we would rush to prep for the shot! We spent time working through camera settings, autofocus and exposure, time of day and using the light as well as the observing behavior patterns of the birds to enable our guests to nail the shot. It was such a buzz to see the progress throughout the trip and to have everyone getting great results :-)

Here is another photo from my trip to the Navajo Nation in Arizona. The clouds were amazing, and the Painted Desert never disappoints!

Just took this one last week!

This is on the Navajo reservation in Northern Arizona. It is called Grand Falls, a.k.a. Chocolate falls. It is on the Little Colorado River, and only flows when things are flooding. You can't see it, but behind me was a HUGE thunderstorm, and after taking these I got out of there quick!

I did a 10 second time exposure, with a N.D. filter. This is how all of the water "flows".
