Documents such as passports, certificates, awards, and membership cards can help visually enhance and solidify stories about loved ones. This volunteer firefighter card was issued to my grandfather as he lived in the area of Calipatria, CA in the late 1940s. Being a volunteer firefighter allowed him to live at the fire station rent free, which was great because he was on a tight budget.

This is only about half of the boxes (photographs and other memorabilia) scanned and digitally enhanced for a multigenerational family documentary video that I produced. Organizing your memorabilia is key to any project, regardless of the size.
