C C Performing Arts Theater in Mesa cancels the Spring Season shows.
Due to an extraordinary number of Omicron cases in the valley and in Mesa, we made the tough decision to cancel the season in order to not contribute to the spread of the virus.
Vaccinations do not prevent Omicron, and most masks don't prevent it, therefore, our only option, to protect our audience as much as possible was to cancel Spring and start back up in the Fall.
We are in the process of rescheduling some shows and adding others.
We will continue with some Tribute Shows, and add more local top level and national touring artists performing Jazz, Funk, Standards, Blues and R&B, and variety.
As we build the new Fall schedule it will be on our website, so sign up for our newsletter on our website and we will keep you informed. www.AZvarietyShows.com

We believe my wife had Omicron, and that my son and I got it from her. I describe it as a bad cold, different from the flu and somewhat different from a cold. My wife's symptoms were:
Sniffles
Dry cough
Sore throat
Body weakness
Cold sweats on two nights while sleeping
No breathing problems
No fever
After four days of getting weak, she began to feel better each day for another 4 days. Now, after 12 days she feels normal, but she called her trainer at the gym, who told her to take another week off from exercise so that her body gets fully recovered.
I began to get
Sniffles
A feeling of pressure about my sinus area but not blocked sinus
I found it difficult to concentrate, so I took naps to rest.
Mild headaches on a couple of days
A feeling of body weakness.
That lasted about 3 days and today, after a nap this morning before lunch, I feel that I have turned the corner.
Our son who is in his 60's had the same symptoms as my wife and I, and his only lasted a couple days before he turned the corner.
One of our granddaughters, who is 26 had similar symptoms and it only lasted a few days with her.
We are both in our 80's
There were no home test kits available, and we were not sick enough to go to the doctor or hospital. Our daughter who is a Respiratory Therapist, and granddaughter, a PA, kept tabs on us, in case we were to take a turn for the worse.
I describe it as a bad type cold, but slightly different symptoms, and also not the flu.
The USPS will send out free test kits soon. You can sign you at https://special.usps.com/testkits
I'm glad that mine has only lasted a few days. I'm not quite back to normal, that will take a few more days, but now I can to my work that's overdue for my shows at the C C Performing Arts Theater.
We have some exciting shows coming up and they are shown on our web site: https:www.AZvarietyShows.com

Mindy Ronstadt and the Tributaries Band performed a Tribute to Mindy’s aunt, Linda Ronstadt, at the C C Performing Arts Theater in Mesa on January 8.
Mindy was fantastic, and so was the band. They are all fun, engaging, interactive, and put on a great show. Throughout the show they gave tidbits of Linda’s recording history, and of Mindy’s history with the family. They told us that Mindy had sung backup on one of Linda’s hit songs.
Mindy has a powerful voice and sang every song for two hours, with only a short intermission – plus they rehearsed a few tunes during the sound check. It takes a very strong set of vocal cords to perform every song for that length of time, and her voice showed no signs of strain.
I was talking to Mindy in the Green Room before and after the show, and she said that she doesn’t have the range that Linda has – yet she hits a lot of high notes – and low notes, during the songs. I’m guessing that she could cover 3 octaves easily.
The audience really loved the show, their applause sounded like an audience of over 1,000 people; and they had raving remarks after the show.
Many of them came to me, thanking us for bringing such great shows to Mesa in an intimate, friendly venue, and promising to be back for more shows. Plus some people came all the way from Tucson to see the show.
After the show, Mindy and the Tributaries held a meet and greet and photo op with the audience, and people lined up to chat with them and take photos with them for over 30 minutes
It was a fun and exciting show, and not only are these performers great musicians and top level performers, but they are all super individuals and it’s a pleasure to get to know them during the time before and after the show.
We have many more exciting shows coming up.
The next show is on February 5, The Fats Domino Tribute, by Mr. Boogie Woogie and his great band. That show will be extraordinary. Mr. Boogie Woogie performs throughout Europe during the summer; then in the winter he performs in the U.S. touring from his base in Tucson.
