Tonight, we give a shout out to little Arthur G, our youngest patient. Now, 1.5 years old, he joined our practice at 6 months of age. Too young? Not at all! This early on, we not only complete a dental exam and cleaning, we also educate the parents, introduce the baby to our office, get baby familiar with our surroundings, build relationships, and bond with the baby. The bulk of a visit completed prior to 3 years of age is parent education. Starting this early prevents many problems in the future. In our practice, kids learn to love visiting "Doc" and are always all smiles. They grow up to be responsible adults and return on their own once they enter adulthood. I've been in practice long enough to have "kids" now in their 20s. They are consistent with their dental visits, come on their own and rarely have any issues. I look forward to when they bring in their little bundles of joy.

Tonight, I celebrate all of my . Technically, it includes those over 65 😬 but, since we all know that 65 is the new 50 😁, let's focus on those over 70... 75... 80?... Ok. 65 and over it is! I love that this population is destroying all stereotypes about "the elderly" and dentistry. This group is keeping all of their teeth, having treatment, their smiles, having , and investing in . We love their wisdom, experiences, and stories. Of all of our patients, it is this group that we are most endeared with.

My 3 eldest patients are: Maria Luisa Gomez (my grandmother), F. August (my spiritual friend), and R. Klausch (my hero). All of them are over 90, vibrant, full of joy, and incredible individuals.

When I opened my doors in August of 2004, I was pregnant with my first baby, Morgan. During these times, I had a beautiful practice and hardly any patients. I'd pound the streets looking for patients, would set up a table at town events, and would meet people face to face. Every patient is a blessing. Over the years, some have come and gone, but others have stayed. I want to thank all of you who have entrusted your care to me, but most especially to those who have been with me the longest. I met G. Finlinson a year prior when he sold me the building and land the practice is currently on. The Dewberry family moved here from out of state, and Mom and I were pregnant together. J. Salsburg came to us as a single woman. She's now married with a family.

This August marks the 20-year of my practice. It opened its doors August 4, 2004 with no patients. Built from the ground up. I, myself, have been a 22 years. I graduated at the age of 25 from UCSFs class of 2002. Many things have changed. My for never has.

Thanks to Xavier, owner of John Henry Dental Lab. We've worked with this for 20 years and love them. I enjoy taking my team to tour our labs so they see who our are. It's important to see the behind-the-scene work to appreciate the entire process. Thank you for your welcome!

You can't gift a just one. She has many moods and places she considers personal and sacred. A smart man will give her the freedom to choose exactly what she wants, when she wants, and how she wants it. That might mean she gets 3 mugs instead of 1, but he's ok with that because she's ok, and that's all that matters.

Down day? Paperwork day? No, Sir! Down to Tucson and back in 24 hours all in an effort to get a quick passport for my eldest, Morgan, who will leave on June 23rd to spend the next 7 weeks in Madrid, Spain for language immersion. My little one thought it was a bit long. I've seen Morgan communicate in Spanish but there's a bit of shyness we need to kick to the curb. Wishing her a fun trip and wonderful memories! Lots of pictures, please!

They say I'm intimidating. I am not. I am a warrior.

These are working casts for custom whitening trays. After an impression is taken and poured in stone, a liquid acrylic is poured and contoured on the front or visible side of the teeth. It'll harden under UV light and vacuum forming sheets will be suctioned over the casts to provide a custom tray that fits over the patient's teeth. The space created in the trays by the blue acrylic will be the space that holds the bleaching gel. These casts were prepared by our assistant, Samera. She contours that gel better than anyone else in our office, including me!
