They may not know what it's like to have a loved one who has fought or is fighting a battle against Dementia or Alzheimer's.

The seeds of black cumin were purchased from the local market of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. A voucher specimen was deposited at the herbarium of the Faculty of Science, DDU Gorakhpur University. Powdered seeds of black cumin (250 g) were subjected to hydro distillation in Clevenger apparatus for 3 h according to the method recommended by European Pharmacopoeia, [1] The major component in black cumin oil was
thymoquinone (37.6%)
p-cymene (31.4%),
α-thujene (5.6%),
thymohydroquinone (3.4%), longifolene (2.0%)
carvacrol (1.4%).
Burits and Bucar [2] characterized many components in black cumin essential oil This Austian group examined seven commercial varieties. These are some of the top tepenes:
thymoquinone (27.8–57.0%),
p-cymene (7.1–15.5%),
carvacrol (5.8–11.6%),
trans-anethole (0.25–2.3%),
4-terpineol (2.0–6.6%)
1.0–8.0% of longifolene.

terpenes and terpenoids Thymol quinone is considered the main terpene in this review.
phytoserols β-sitosterol (44–54%) is the main sterol followed by stigmastrol (16.57–20.92%) β-sitosterol seems to have anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative properties. Stigmastrol is being explored for anti-cancer and anti-fungal properties.
Black seed oil/ thymoquinone skin stuff
Now that we’ve established that thymoquinone is the major terpene in black seed oil, what could be a unique use in combination with cuprous nicotinic acid? As a side note, oleic acid proved to be an effective enhancing agent for transdermal delivery of thymoquinone through the stratum coronium of human cadaver skin. [6]
A group out of People’s University and Saifia Science College in India tested the hypothesis that tymoquinone could induce the expression of tyrosinase in a cultured melanoma cell line. Tyrosinase is the copper cofactor enzyme that is involved in the synthesis in the pigment melanin. These authors found that thymoquinone stimulated melanin production in a protein kinase A (cAMP) and PKC (calcium activated) pathways. [7] They suggested that thymoquinone could be an effective treatment for the skin pigmentation disorder vitiligo. An Iranian study demonstrated that serum copper and zinc were significantly lower in vitiligo patients compared to controls without skin pigmentation issues. [8] A skin cream that contains black seed oil /thymoquinone and copper has the potential to be a good treatment for this skin pigmentation disorder.
