Sunland Home Care
Offering peace of mind while caring for your loved one. We are able to provide care in the home for up to 24 hours a day.
Our goal is to provide peace of mind by assisting people to age in the comfort of their home. This can include a companion visit, assistance showering, dressing, meal preparation and transportation. We strive to prevent hospital readmissions by striving to monitor the care at home after a serious illness, fall or surgery. Our caregivers are compassionate and trained to handle the people we serve.
At Sunland Home Care, we believe in putting our team first, as Richard Branson wisely said, “Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of your clients.” This quote drives our daily decisions and fuels our commitment to nurturing a positive company culture.
Providing exceptional care starts with happy caregivers. We understand the impact of a supportive work environment and strive to be a workplace where our team feels valued and supported.
Yesterday, we announced our September Employee of the Month awards and the caregiver responded with this message. Reading messages like the one we received reminds us of the incredible dedication and hard work they put in every day.
The role of a caregiver is not easy; it requires immense emotional and physical strength. We are thankful for our compassionate team members who wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to our mission of assisting seniors in aging safely and independently in their own homes.

- You’re worried your loved ones may experience a medical emergency and won’t have anyone nearby to help.
- Your loved ones are refusing additional help.
- You wish you had more time to support and take care of your loved one.

In the home care industry we experience grief often. Saying goodbye to a client you’ve worked with for years because they are moving or working with a client who passes away is very common. Many of us experienced grief during COVID. The adult children I speak to every day are grieving the relationship with the parent. Our clients are grieving their loss of independence and aging.
Our team gave us feedback that they would like some training and support in dealing with grief.
Joan Marlow gave some insightful training on signs of grief and how to process grief.
This is one way we support our team here at Sunland Home Care, because we care about the whole person. Now that our team has learned more about grief we can better serve others which is one of our core values.
Our caregivers receive hands-on training in our state-of-the-art skills lab to refine their techniques and expertise.
We are always learning, growing, and trying to bring best practices to our clients and employees by attending our industry conference, AZNHA, Arizona In-Home Care Association. Networking and learning about new products to better assist our mission of helping seniors age safely and independently at home!
We believe those who want to stay at home can and should!
Your loved one deserves independence and dignity. And that often comes with living in the comfort of their homes. Oftentimes, this is a place that has tremendous history and emotional ties that are so very important to your loved ones that can contribute to mental health.
Our goal is for seniors to continue their day-to-day activities, with the support they need to do it easier and safer. Our local team works around the needs of you and your loved ones. Not the other way around.
Locally owned and operated, Sunland is already part of your community. Our community connections make the transition from independent living to a supported one seamless, empowering you to lean on us where you need help the most.
Whether you’re looking for full-time support or relief care, our goal is to keep your loved ones in their homes so they can live safely and independently.
We love when people leave us reviews!
Today we supported The Summit in their First Responders Breakfast! They made breakfast and each first responder got to pick out a donated $25 gift card to thank them for all they do for the community. Many times people fall and the first responders are called out to help them up or take them to the hospital. I’ve seen it happen so many times. We appreciate our first responders and the support they give to our seniors!
Today was the kickoff meeting for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This year I’m volunteering on the Walk Committee. As I was sitting there reflecting on this disease and all the people in that room it has affected, I realized just yesterday, I said goodbye to someone we have cared for for 5 years with this disease and today, I was getting a call during the meeting for a colleague that needed care asap for his uncle with dementia.
I’ve met so many people that we’ve cared for, loved and lost to this terrible disease. Not to mention the wonderful families who are going through it with them.
If you aren’t signed up to walk on a team, now’s the time!! And if you’d like to donate, we won’t say no! 😉
See you November 2nd at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Phoenix!
And don’t forget. If you are helping someone going through Alzheimer’s or some other dementia, there is a 24/7 hotline available to you. Please reach out! You are not alone- 800.272.3900 💜

Did you know in Arizona it’s not required to train caregivers? When I tell people looking into home care services their jaw drops with disbelief!
That needs to change! In what other industry do you not provide training?!
At Sunland Home Care, each caregiver goes through a full day of training upon hire and additional training shifts before being assigned a client.
One of our core values is continuous learning. Throughout the year we bring in experts to train our team. And we go one step further by paying our team to come to the training, because we value their time as professionals!
Joan Marlow with Peaceful Easy Healing, is a certified patient advocate, trained our team on “Caring for the Caregiver.” So many people care for their own families, go to a job that requires caregiving and then back to their families for more caring. We learned that self care is so important and ways we can do little things every day.
We had a great time learning, having lunch together and sharing!

Celebrating 8 incredible years of Sunland Home Care! Thank you to our amazing team for their dedication and exceptional care. Thanks to everyone for coming out to Organ Stop Pizza and celebrating!
Today, I think about so many men and women who have served, fought and sacrificed. Both sides of my family served in WWII. My grandpa's brother, was killed while training in an airplane. I would not be where I'm at today without the brave lives of those who have gone before me. 🇺🇸
Reviews mean everything to a small business! Thank you for taking the time to leave one!
Ernest Hemingway once said, “The world breaks everyone and afterward, many are strong at the broken places.”
Today was a testament to cancer having broken me and being able to turn that into something that will positively impact our community.
I’ve been working on The Big Pink Bus initiative for about 3 years and today was the ribbon cutting ceremony.
This bus will serve up to 6,000 women each year giving them access to mammograms that will save lives.
As I have been reflecting on this day, I thought about the many ways in which I have been involved:
1. Asking people for money
2. Early morning TV interviews
3. Telling my personal story of trauma and triumph to several groups of people
4. Event planning for fundraising and bringing awareness
5. Having my picture on the posters in the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Centers
Doing all of this while trying to navigate my own survivorship journey. All of this, very much out of my comfort zone.
But I was reminded that everything good in my life has come from being uncomfortable, growing, facing my fears and doing really hard things. And that the most worthwhile things take years to accomplish.
Thank you to the many donors, the team at Banner and to the many wonderful people I have met along the way.
