Full Loc Maintenance, professional roots crochet, groom, palm roll & style.. Good to go for 2 to 3 months! Yes crochet work can be a bit painful. But only while I work.. Thats because I work by strands, not larger clumps of hair.. My work lasts and clients do not make bi weekly visits as most salons offer... Its the evolution of natural hair moving away from the chemicals and fast turn around environment... Jah Bless our heads! Lol

Many of my pics are pre barbershop .. I prefer that clients get Loc work and roots crocheted by me before going to a barber for a fade.. That way I can make use of any growth to contribute to the structure of the Locs b4 its cut. I strive to keep roots thick an consistent w the shape of the Locs... From root to end! No wax, no grease, no twisting, no product, and no interlocking. I use a combination of professional techniques. No cheats and my work lasts.

New growth, Fly aways, and frizz are a sign of healthy hair and longevity for your Locs. Do not feel that the frizz is reason to keep your Locs covered. Yes you may need some maintenance, but do not forget the very nature of Locs. Not to achieve perfection, but to allow the natural state of the hair to be! To support the natural growth. So if you are in a frizzy stage of growth, dont fret. Now is the time to rock your locks just as if they were freshly crocheted. This is the challenge to yourself to represent your natural state. We all enjoy fresh crochet, but if youre chillin at home? or dont have to be presentable? take off that headband and let your growth fly. Rubbing it and tugging on it will help loc it up and stimulate the roots as well..

How Long do Loc Extensions Last? Permanent Loc Extensions Many Years...Depends on the quality of hair and install work, and wear and tear. Semi-Synthetic and Human Hair Extensions will experience less breakage. Stronger Crochet work upon install will last and need less repairs over years of wear. Temporary Loc Extensions Faux Locs Can be worn for 2 or 3 months with minimal damage to the natural hair.

How Long Does Your Hair need to be for Starter Locs? Considering that some of your length with become width during creation of the Locs, you want twice as much length as your desired finished Locs. So, for example 6 inches of hair will create 3 inch Locs or so. 4 Inches of hair will create 2-ish inches of Loc.. This is why growing ones hair is considered the first step in the Loc Journey! You must have the hair to work with first!

Is Loc Maintenance Painful? Yes and No! Depends on the person... FOlks who mess w thier hair more are less sensitive. The skin on the scalp can become very sensitive if left alone, not stimulated for a long time. giving the Locs a tug and pulling them apart will keep the scalp tougher. Some clients have sensitivities if they have not had work done in a while. Most people say after finding a Loctician, hainvg Locs is less pain. Maintenance may be paiful at first, but clients come to enoy the feeling of a fresh, tight crochet job. Of course, the goal is for the Locs to be tight, and for you to be comfortable. I always check with folks on pain tolerance and adjust my speed.

Can You Color Dye Locs? Yes! Or Just start with colorful Extensions.. %100 Natural Locs & Most Brands of Human Hair can be color dyed. In some cases more materials may be needed if the Locs are thick or if the extensions are tough to accept color. Starting with extensions the color you want instead of following up with color treatment after install may be easier for ombre colors..

Wavy hair, Straight Hair, Coily curly hair, kinky hair, soft lightweight hair, damaged, or healthy.. No matter your description of your natural hair, there is a style of Locs for you. All Locs are unique and yours will be your own.. It is thought that to have Locs you have to do nothing to your hair.. But we have to groom the Locs, help the Locs to shape as they grow, and keep them from growing together at the roots. Freeform Locs are different from groomed Locs yes.. But the vibe is all the same. The energy is our hair is powerful!

The lightening of hair toward the ends is natural for most, and is definitely due to sun lightening and a persons genes for hair melanin. Color change may be more visible when the hair is scrunched and matted together into Freeform Locs. Almost any style of Locs will show a natural lightening of color... IF!... the persons hair is genetically designed to. So before you bleach your ends, you my want to wait for a bit of length to see what your ends will do naturally!
