Last Sunday, Steve Bergstrom was recognized for thirty two years of service on the Board of Elders. After this month, Steve will be stepping down from the Board and become Elder Emeritus. He will still teach his adult Sunday school class and be involved with the AWANA Program. Steve, thank you for your outstanding service to Centerpoint Church!

Yesterday, Annette Baker was recognized by John Finklea for her twelve years as Care Minister for Centerpoint Church. Annette will still stay busy teaching her Sunday School class and coordinating meal distribution. We want to thank Annette for her service.

Sunday Night Prayer Meeting - Next Sunday, July 21st is our next Sunday Night Prayer Meeting. We will meet from 5:30-6:30pm at the Centerpoint Church building. Please plan on joining us for a concentrated time of prayer for each other, our church body, our country, and our world.

Women’s Summer Book Club - We have our Summer Book Club again this summer. June’s book is “The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis. We promise it’s not a long read and you’ll enjoy it! Join us for a discussion led by Amber Proctor on June 20th, 6:30 pm at Panera in Mesquite. Looking forward to fellowshipping, learning and growing with you this summer!

Last night, we enjoyed the first CP Kids Presents: The Gospel! What an encouraging evening watching our children share testimonies, share scripture verses, share what they have learned over the last nine months, and especially hearing the life-changing Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ presented. The auditorium was packed with family and friends. Thanks to our Director of Children’s Ministry, Abby Hoff, for producing and writing this fantastic program. Also, thanks to all the teachers, children, and volunteers who work throughout the year to make our Sunday School and Children’s Church programs successful.

CPKids Presents: The Gospel - CPKids would like to invite everyone to join us the evening of Sunday, May 5 from 5-7pm when we will have our very first CPKids Presents: the Gospel. This will be a fun time for the kids to share with everyone the wonderful things they have been hiding in their hearts about the good news of Jesus. Everyone is invited - parents, grandparents, AWANA leaders, ABFs, the Grown Up Group, even school friends - we want everyone to be encouraged by the simple yet powerful presentation of the gospel. A time of dessert and fellowship will follow in the gym. It will be a sweet night in every way!

Ladies’ Morning @ HOPE Coffee - On Saturday, April 27th, all the ladies at Centerpoint are invited to meet at HOPE Coffee in Sunnyvale at 8am for a time to relax, drink some coffee, and get to know each other better.

This morning, our leadership team officially announced that Johnny Ellcey has been added to our Board of Elders. We are excited to welcome Johnny to the Board and our other recent additions, Nate McKenna and Luke Spencer. May God guide and protect these men as they lead Centerpoint Church.

Summer Safari at Jan-Kay Ranch - Centerpoint kids age 8+ entering 3rd through 7th grade have the opportunity to go to Jan-Kay Ranch Christian Camp in Detroit, TX on July 8-12! At camp, the kids will be challenged and encouraged in their faith while having lots of fun. Our very own Steve Bergstrom will be the camp speaker! The camp offers swimming, mini golf, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and a mini zoo with Ripper the rhinoceros.
Cost: $60 deposit locks in a spot at camp and rate (space is limited)
$300 total if deposit paid before April 30th
$315 total if deposit is paid before May 31st
$330 total if registered after May 31st

Church Yard Sale - Donation Drop Off - The church yard sale to raise money for VBS is almost here, and we will soon be accepting donations! For a list of approved items to donate or with any questions, please contact Jennifer Garcia. Donations may be dropped off at the following times:

Good Friday Memorial - The greatest Easter Sunday celebration occurs when it is preceded by the deepest mourning of the death of Jesus. You are invited to gather with the Centerpoint family to commemorate the death and burial of our Lord Jesus. The Good Friday Memorial begins at 7:00pm on Friday, the 29th of March. Mark it on your calendars.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night - Dads, are you ready to whisk your daughters away for a special “night on the town?” We will transform Centerpoint into an all-in-one shopping center complete with flower shop, jewelry store, a sophisticated tea house, a retro diner with sundaes and dancing, and, of course, an arcade!
So mark your calendars, straighten your ties, and join us Saturday, March 23, from 6-8 pm for a fun time with your darling daughters.

At Centerpoint Church…

Night of Praise & Worship - At Centerpoint Church, we love and prioritize worshiping together. One way we want to provide an opportunity to do so is through a night of singing praise and worshiping our God on Sunday, February 18 at 6pm. We hope you mark your calendars and join us that evening!

34:18 Ladies’ Support Group - Our next 34:18 Ladies’ Support Group meeting will be Saturday, February 17th from 10am-12:30pm at the Baker residence. Please contact our Care Minister, Annette Baker ([email protected]), to RSVP or with any questions.

Missionary Love Offering - During the month of February we will be collecting a love offering that will be sent to each of our missionaries. Cards and a donation box can be found in the lobby starting this Sunday.

Fellowship Meal - Put it on the calendar for lunch with your church family on Sunday, January 28th immediately following the worship service. There is a sign-up for food to bring at the office. Come and enjoy the food and some much needed fellowship.

Sanctity of Life Donation Drive - Centerpoint Church unequivocally affirms the sanctity of human life, and we believe this begins at conception. All human life is valuable and precious in God’s sight and thus should be in ours as well. Next Sunday, January 21st, is National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and as a small way to celebrate and support the sanctity of life we are partnering with Thrive Women’s Clinic, a pregnancy center that seeks to support, fully inform, and counsel women who find themselves in unwanted or crisis pregnancies. So, for the next two weeks we will be collecting small baby items (see list in photo above) that are greatly needed for young and first-time mothers. There will be a basket in the foyer for collection. Thank you for your help in this small way to support life.

Women’s Bible Study - Ladies, we hope you join us this year as we continue our study of the Psalms. Whether you participated in the fall or not, this new year is a great opportunity to jump into Bible study with us! We will be using the same study guide as the fall. The study will be offered Thursday mornings at the church from 10:00am-11:30am, (childcare provided) or Thursday evenings at the home of Kendra Howard from 7:30pm-9:00pm.

Please join us in-person or online this Sunday as we finish the Advent season with a Christmas Eve celebration. We will be having our 10:45am service only - no Sunday school or evening service. Also, there will only be children’s church for kids three years old and younger. Be ready for a special time of celebrating and worshiping together!
