Bernhard's Christopher Benson and Phil Watson are presenting this week at North Carolina APPA's 2024 Annual Conference.

Their presentation highlights the transformative 30-year Energy-as-a-Service partnership between Bernhard and Tulane University that includes large-scale and immediate improvements to campus infrastructure and the construction of a 1-megawatt solar generation facility that will produce 10% of the university’s total electricity needs at its uptown campus.

Through the innovative partnership, Tulane will accelerate the delivery of campus upgrades that will increase the resiliency and reliability of critical infrastructure on Tulane’s campuses. Bernhard is also guaranteeing significant annual utility cost savings over the length of the agreement, a commitment that includes bringing one or more Tulane buildings to certified Net Zero Energy status by 2025.

The agreement encompasses $134 million in infrastructure improvements, a 10 percent reduction in carbon emissions, a 25 percent decrease in purchased electricity, and 33 percent guaranteed energy savings. This project solidifies Hackensack Meridian Health‘s dedication to remaining the largest, most comprehensive, and truly integrated healthcare network in New Jersey, offering innovative research, life-enhancing care, and a complete range of medical services.

University of New Orleans Partners With Bernhard to Launch Innovative Solar Array Installation 04/11/2024

Bernhard recently partnered with the University of New Orleans to launch an innovative solar array installation. In March, teams completed a state-of-the-art solar array on UNO's campus, which will offset 17% of UNO’s annual electric consumption. This initiative marks a significant step forward in UNO's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.

Completed in just 10 months, the project comprises 3,300 panels seamlessly integrated into UNO's infrastructure to provide immediate benefits to the on-campus community.

Our teams received a delivery of 55,000 solar panels for an exciting project in the Northeast. Nearly 98% of the project scope is solar and battery storage.

The delivery was from March 11th to March 22nd and was comprised of 7,695 solar panels delivered each day by a fleet of 15 trucks. Each pallet had 27 solar panels and was tested before being offloaded.

The delivery was originally scheduled to be completed on March 29th, but because of the diligence and efficiency of our teams, we were able to expedite the completion date and finish ahead of schedule.

Our teams recently completed a successful transformer lift project at Tulane University.

The project involved the rigging and installation of two 2,000 Kva transformers, essential for powering up two massive 2,200-ton chillers.

One transformer was fully connected and powered up on the same day it was set in place, a testament to the efficiency and expertise of our team.

Bernhard hosted a mock robotics competition in our Little Rock office this week with students from Arkansas 4-H as they gear up for The First Tech Challenge Arkansas Championship on February 23 at Shiloh Christian School in Springdale, AR. Fueled by the supportive 4-H program, these students have delved into robotics, mastering skills crucial for future engineers.
