Congratulations to Harlie Stevens '24 on receiving the Virginia Cullens Memorial Scholarship presented by the Metairie Woman’s Club. Each year, the organization awards this $2,500 scholarship to a young woman who participates in various extracurricular activities, consistently plays a role in her community, and who has excelled academically.

🌟ALUMA SPOTLIGHT🌟Lizzy Bryars Guttierrez ’08 will be going into her 10th year of teaching 8th grade Social Studies at Boyet Junior High School in St. Tammany Parish. She also coaches the softball team and facilitated with the organization of the new Student Council last year. She recently received the "Teacher of the Year Award" at Boyet Junior High for the 2023-2024 school year. Lizzy stated, "As I reflect on receiving this award, I think about the awesome teachers I had at Chapelle who led the way and inspired me to be the educator I am today. I am so thankful for them and my time at Chapelle.”
💛🔆 STUCO E-BOARD TAKES LASC 🔆💛 Our Executive Board members are taking their knowledge and their to Natchitoches, Louisiana for the Louisiana Association of Student Councils Convention. We can’t wait to keep up with them on their adventures this week, and we are so excited for them to bring back all that they learn to our school!
🌟🎓 Honoring McKenna Ural, a Class of 2024 Valedictorian! 🎓🌟
McKenna graduated summa cm laude and will attend Georgetown University - College of Arts and Sciences to pursue degrees in history and Russian. During the college application process, McKenna received multiple scholarships, and she was accepted to attend the following colleges:

McKenna was Senior Class President, and she was a member of Ambassadors, Junior Classical League, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and the Gifted and Talented Program. During her sophomore year, McKenna even published her own workbook to help others prep for the National Latin Exam! She has shown exceptional dedication and brilliance, inspiring peers and teachers alike. We are praying for you in all your future endeavors! 💚

🌟ALUMNA SPOTLIGHT🌟Kristen Matherne Ellis '96 is finishing up her 22nd year of teaching Kindergarten! She is currently teaching at Marigny Elementary in St. Tammany Parish. Previously, she has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade and Special Education. After receiving the "Teacher of the Year" award at Marigny Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year, Kristen shared, "I had the best models of teachers growing up....my mom, my aunt, as well as my teachers at St. Christopher and Chapelle. All of them left pieces of themselves in my heart." Way to go, Kristen! What a great accomplishment. 💚
🌟ALUMNA SPOTLIGHT🌟Skyla Thompson ’19 is finishing up her first year as a Special Education Teacher at Lakewood Elementary School in St. Charles Parish. Currently, Skyla works in a 4th grade inclusion setting where she co-teaches English, Language Arts, and Math! She recently received the “New Teacher of the Year Award” in St. Charles Parish for the 2023-2024 school year. Skyla shared that her favorite part of her job is watching the students grow and seeing all the progress they make throughout the school year. Congratulations, Skyla, on this amazing accomplishment!👏💚

🌟ALUMNA SPOTLIGHT🌟 Bonnie Perkins Jones ’75 successfully executed another amazing 60's and 70's Spring Luncheon. Each year, Bonnie volunteers to plan, promote, and carry out a beautiful afternoon for 100+ alumnae. Named Alumnae of the Year in 2008, Bonnie’s two daughters, Allison ‘08 and Michelle ‘06, are also Chapelle alumnae. Bonnie currently serves as an Alumnae Induction Committee member and has always generously dedicated her time and talents to Chapelle. Congratulations on being an extraordinary example of what it means to be loyal to your alma mater!
