The money that was pumped into the economy has to come out. Rates need to increase. We got used to sub 7% rates after the financial crisis of the early 2000s. Rates before then were much higher than they are now. It is not completely unlikely for us to return to rates of 10% - 15%

Yesterday it became official. Rates are rising.

If you already planned on buying a home, do not let rates stop you. We got used to sub 6% rates after the financial crash but 5%-8% is actually normal. From 1990-2003 rates ranged from 7%-10%.

You can lock in a rate now before rates continue higher, negotiate a good deal on a property, and take advantage of this buyer market.

Remember that real estate is negotiable. There are deals everywhere in this current market.
