A modern day Boss Mom, Karen started her entrepreneurship journey in 2000 and at the age of 19 when she took a leave of absence from college to help her dad open his business. Karen went back to school in 2003 and graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in Psychology in 2005.⁣
⁣
For the next 10 years, Karen worked with Florida Department of Children and Families. While she loved her job, becoming a mom shifted her career goals. Karen needed flexibility and time. Not to mention, an income to support her growing family. So in 2013, and after a lot of prayer, she decided to take a leap of faith and join her husband’s business in financial services full-time. Karen always had a passion for financial literacy and knew that together they could thrive as a family business.⁣

The risk paid off! Today, Karen is a full-time entrepreneur. She is the Co-CEO of a financial services company with over 50 licensed agents.

In 2010 Karen saw a need for financial literacy and financial life skills to the children she served in foster care, she brought her husband in to speak to the kids about money management. To their surprise the information was well received and the kids “didn’t have to be bribed to attend” jokingly says Karen. Soon enough they were being invited to other organizations to speak to not only the children but also the staff who needed help understanding and managing their own finances.

As fate took place, NXT LVL Workshops was born, today these wealth building workshops are taught at many different organizations.

As a result of attending these workshop people learn basic financial principles that they can apply immediately to their current strategy & maximize wealth.
