One of my opponents recently told a voter that I would raise their taxes. I’d like everyone to know that a member does not have the authority to raise taxes.
The referendum, which he is referring to, was voted in by over 70% of residents in 2018 following the Parkland shooting to increase security in our schools. This referendum will be on the ballot and decided by voters (not me) this November.
I am in favor of this referendum. See the here. As the only educator in this race, I will never take a chance on the safety of our students.

Last night, I joined candidates across Miami-Dade in a forum hosted by Federated Republican Women of North Dade. In case you missed it, below is where I stand on a couple issues:
⭐️ Increasing teacher pay and school safety via the referendum:
✅ Yes, this is absolutely vital for our children. Our schools need the BEST security and teachers our community can offer.
⭐️ Parental rights/choice in education:
✅ Yes, parents must be involved and have a say in curriculum and other choices.

Over the past month, I have met with Eddie Santiesteban and other residents of the , , , and surrounding communities. I’ve heard and understand the challenges they’ve had with basics such as designating school zones which keep our children safe. It was great to join the Education Advisory Board at today’s Town of Miami Lakes- Municipal Government Back to School Drive. Thank you to Giving Gators and the all the sponsors.
My opponents and I were recently asked in a panel interview to detail our experience in education. I would like to share my details here.
Not only do I have over 17 years of experience as a Principal, a teacher and on various education boards, but I also obtained my undergraduate and graduate degrees in from Florida International University and Barry University.
I am the only educator in the race. The only candidate who lives, breathes and studied education.

Had a great day canvassing in our local community. One of the families I met was the Valdez’s. They shared their incredible family history with me. They came from Cuba in the early 80’s and their family was part of the 2506 . It was amazing to hear from them and connect with my roots. Let us all remember - the past is in our heads, but the future is in our hands.
Huge thank you to the Valdez’s and all the individuals I met today.
One thing is certain, we are making a lot of friends along the campaign trial. Thank you to all the families and their pets who have treated us with so much kindness when we arrive at the door. I hear your concerns and I will represent you well.

I was recently asked where the Menendez in my name comes from? The answer is from my mother. My mother was born in Cuba. She fled communism at the age of 11 and came to the US with my grandmother. From there, she studied hard, worked hard and rose to become a Senior Vice President across various banks in South Florida. She taught me: how hard work and a good education leads to success, to always appreciate the freedoms of this country, and to always love this country wholeheartedly. And that’s the Menendez story.

This , I am taking it back to my days in the Khoury League. My father (the assistant coach pictured in the green shirt on the end) has always been there to support me, whether on a baseball field or in life. He is a great role model and I wouldn’t be the man or father I am today if it wasn’t for him.

I was recently asked if I’ve ever attended or taught at a public school and the answer is YES X 6. I have both private and public school experience. I am the principal at an amazing private school in and I’ve also taught at public schools. I currently support public schools in our community as a member of the Town of Miami Lakes- Municipal Government advisory board. I am a supporter of public education and believe strong public schools are vital to our community. They impact our children, our future, our property values and more.

Yesterday we held our first SLICE WITH STUDENTS, a quarterly meet up with local students to discuss top issues in their schools. They shared their thoughts on , , activities and more.
