MENTALIDAD DE POBREZA:
La pobreza es una actitud, es la actitud de desperdiciarse a sí mismo. El pobre desperdicia su tiempo, desperdicia sus ideas… y termina desperdiciando su dinero. La pobreza ni empieza, ni termina con el dinero, sino contigo.
La forma en cómo te tratas, define como la riqueza te va a tratar. Una vez una mujer me dijo: “como es la habitación en la que duermes, así suele ser tu vida. Como está tu ropero, así suele estar tu vida. Como está tu cama, así suele estar tu vida.” Hace poco escuché que alguien dijo, con acierto, que “las cosas se parecen a sus dueños.”
Tu auto eres tú, tu ropa eres tú, el barrio en el que vives eres tú y tus vecinos, tu celular eres tú, tu computadora eres tú, tu refrigerador eres tú, tu alacena eres tú...
No hablo de un parecido físico, sino del intangible: una persona limpia tiene cosas limpias; una persona ordenada, tiene cosas ordenadas. Una persona organizada tiene su vida organizada.
Creo que la persona que quiere hacer mejoras consistentes en su vida, empieza paso a paso, de menos a más. Corrigiendo pequeñas actitudes, pequeñas acciones.
Hace años fui a entrevistar a una empresaria ya mayor. La mujer tiene fama de haber tenido una enfermiza ética de trabajo, gracias a la cual construyó un poderoso negocio que hoy administran sus hijos. “Mira – me dijo mientras sacaba su monedero- el dinero hay que administrarlo como si fuese medicina. No hay que cuidarlo, hay que valorarlo y respetarlo.
La riqueza es producto del orden, de la previsión, de la limpieza, del respeto al tiempo, de la confianza en uno mismo. No eres rico porque tienes un millón de dólares en la mano, al contrario: puedes tener un millón de dólares en la mano como resultado de ser rico. Esto que voy a decir suena duro y por eso lo escribo con cargo a las críticas: la mayoría de gente con mentalidad de pobreza es sucia, desordenada, son impuntuales, no valoran su tiempo y por eso muchas veces lo desperdician consumiendo televisión basura. Gastan lo poco que tienen en una cerveza, y nunca en un libro. Como ve, no son pobres por el sueldo o por el trabajo que tienen, sino por la forma en cómo se tratan a si mismos.
Vive a partir de hoy una vida diferente, orden es coherencia y la coherencia arroja resultados inimaginables."
