The Seeded Soul Doula
Holistic birth support: labor doula, childbirth education, pregnancy coaching & birth planning
When Ale learned she needed an induction at 37 weeks due to hypertension, it was just the first of many surprises this birth journey would bring. With baby still transverse, the path ahead felt uncertain, to say the least. But then came the first moment of magic when baby turned head down on her own, right before a scheduled ECV. It was the first of many times baby seemed to be letting it known, “don’t worry mom, I’ve got this” ✨💞
The journey was slow and steady, (as to be expected with an early induction). We spent a full day and night trying all the positions to get baby to engage in the pelvis. Even with an epidural, Ale followed my lead, allowing me to get her in all sorts of positions to help things move along.
Several cervical checks along the way showed an unchanged cervix, still at 5cm. She was fortunate to be cared by the must unrushed & supportive OBs in Miami, allowing Ale to surrender to the process. She stayed present and positive, continuing her journey in full trust of her body and baby.
After much rest & movement, supported by her mom, husband and myself..the pivotal moment arrived..intense pressure building, baby descending, but no doctor in sight, which took mom out of her body and into her head. I whispered in her ear “you’ve got this, this is all you” and refocused on staying present with her body’s overwhelming urge to push. Doctor arrived, and baby soon after. The most joyful words erupted from mom. “I did it I did it I did it!!!” Both mom and myself had tears running down our cheeks. It was a career changing moment for me. Walking alongside Ale as she rose to every single challenge her labor presented her was one of the greatest honors of my career.
Ale said to me in our postpartum visit when discussing her daughter’s delivery, “her birth has inspired me to do really bold things”. Her birth clarified the sacred truth that birth has a way of presenting us with exactly the challenges we need to discover the strength we’ll carry into motherhood. Thank you Ale for trusting me to witness your redemptive birth journey! 💗

Great review from Lauren... "I reached out to Rachel just 6 weeks prior to my due date, unsure if it was too late to hire a doula. I had a fairly traumatic first birth experience (without a doula) that ended up in a c section, a birth I could barely recollect, and a painful recovery. I knew a different outcome was possible. During the first part of my pregnancy, I was unsure about attempting a VBAC (mostly doubting my chances of success), but I really listened to my intuition and became more resolved in doing my best to avoid surgery as I got closer to my due date. In addition to arming myself with more knowledge this time around to better advocate for myself in the hospital, I knew I needed a great support team. After one meeting with Rachel it was clear she was a great fit for me. She is highly knowledgeable but also low key, calm energy that immediately puts you at ease and helps you to feel empowered regardless of how things unfold. She really follows her clients lead and supports them in their decisions without judgement or convincing, rather than having her own agenda. Having Rachel with me in advance of and during my labor was so calming, and I know her support allowed an easier delivery. It also allowed my husband to just be present during the birth of our daughter rather than feeling like he had to have a ‘job’. I really cannot recommend Rachel highly enough."

Great review from Paola... "I hired Rachel after finding her on Google and it was the best decision I made. It was my first pregnancy so I was clueless about how birth works but I knew I wanted to have a natural birth, after mentioning this to her the very first time she told me about giving birth at a birth center instead of a hospital. I didn’t even know birth centers were a thing but I am so happy she told me about them.
It was the best experience! Rachel was so special during my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She was extremely supportive and made me feel at ease when I needed it. Even my husband was super happy we had her giving us all the support to us both. I will forever be grateful to her and will hire her again in a heartbeat if I have another baby."

Great review from Jo... "I was lucky enough to meet Rachel and learn of the work she did as a doula through a friend. We went through her birthing class and had her as a pre labor doula, though if and when I do this again, I’ll hire her through birth. She is knowledgeable, warm, and confident. Although I certainly embrace some aspects of the more holistic and alternative side of pregnancy and birth, I went through a traditional hospital and medicated birth route, Rachel supported us through that process and always listened to our preferences providing guidance along the way. I can’t recommend her enough, even if this isn’t something you’ve considered as part of your pregnancy/birthing journey, meet her and you’ll see what I mean when I say, I’m so glad to have had someone like her in my corner supporting me and my husband. She is amazing, thank you Rachel."

🌸 Birth Doula Availability 🌸
September 2022-February 2023
Plus one more space for this July!
I take on 3-4 clients with due dates in each month for in-person birth support. I limit these spaces to avoid multiple clients going into labor at the same time, and also to avoid burn out! Sometimes I can be at a birth for over 24 hours! Shorter ones like this past Sunday’s (7 hours) tempt me to take on more, but I know they can’t all be so smooth! 🦋
In addition to in-person doula support, I offer virtual pregnancy and birth coaching, and am in the process of designing my own childbirth education course, which will be available soon…Stay tuned for updates! And in the meantime, reach out if you’re expecting, or spread the word to those who are! 🌱
Postpartum visits are one of my favorite parts of the job. Seeing my clients transition from pregnancy, through birth, to parenthood is like watching the circle of life unfold right before my eyes. I notice how the energy has changed in the home since our prenatal appointments, how their world now revolves around the new resident. I notice their newfound confidence, and pick up on places they may need some support.
I come with the intention of checking-in on everyone’s overall well-being. How are they coping with the transition? How do they feel about the birth? I look for any signs of postpartum distress and encourage them to proactively care for themselves as well as baby. I offer validation, feedback, and referrals if necessary. I acknowledge their strength and how far they’ve come, wishing them the best of luck on their journey that’s just getting started…
✨REMEMBER YOUR POWER✨

Eating intuitively has made the biggest difference in my relationship with food and my body. Eating when hungry and stopping when full is a only one piece of the puzzle, another part can be looking deeper at yourself and your relationship with food.
Try shifting away from labeling foods as good or bad, and instead as sustenance to keep you alive and energized, or even comforted. Create a habit of checking in with yourself, and asking what your body needs or desires…and then give it that! Drop the judgement and take kind care of yourself.
Repost .positivity —
“When people first hear about intuitive eating, it can seem a little...counterintuitive. How can eating whatever you want when you want be “healthier”than following a ✨diet✨?
Well, there’s a lot of nuance to it. But ultimately, it’s about working with your body to find that balance between meeting physical, mental and emotional needs in a sustainable way.”
Check out her PCOS balance course starting in July!
When I learned about the role of blood sugar regulation and insulin resistance in PCOS, a light went off in my mind. I realized my issues with binge eating and insatiable cravings weren’t my fault. They were a side effect of a very real internal imbalance. My issues with food were a symptom, yet also a perpetuating cause of my health issues. I was trapped in a cycle of sugar cravings and crashes. To stop the cycle, I focused on regulating my blood sugar through really simply food changes.
Eating balanced & eating enough: For me, starting the day with a big balanced breakfast has made the biggest impact in regulating my blood sugar spikes and dips. Combining fats, proteins, and complex carbs keeps me satisfied and held over until I can hear the cues from my body that it’s actually hungry again.
A couple of favorites: spelt toast topped with avocado, olive oil and chunky salt or nut butter and strawberries. Check out the next slides from .positivity for more balanced breakfast & meal ideas!
My passion for women’s health started with my own PCOS diagnosis. I had removed my Nuvaring after 10 years of jumping from one hormonal birth control to another due to a slew of different side effects. Once the artificial hormones were no longer covering up my symptoms, the hormonal imbalance (which got me on the pill in the first place) became apparent, as I only bled twice the following year.
My gyno was concerned, as not having a period when you’re off birth control can put you at higher risk for cancer. After diagnosing me with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome, which effects 5 million US women), she wouldn’t let me leave the office without a birth control prescription to regulate my period. I never filled that prescription, and was fueled to find an alternative solution on my own.
Personally, I felt it was vital to find the root cause of my imbalance, instead of relying on a temporary bandaid, and potentially facing fertility issues down the road. Honestly, it was a frustratingly slow journey. I felt largely alone and tired of having to advocate for more holistic care. While not having a period lead to anxiety and a sense of disconnection from my femininity. At the same time, this struggle forced me to educate myself about my options, become more connected to my own body, and figure out what does and doesn’t work for me. I became empowered 👊
After a year and a half of focused intention, trial and error, and lifestyle changes, I’ve been able to regulate my hormones, receive a monthly period, find food freedom, and comfort in my body, all of which will always be an ongoing process.🩸
Every body is different, which is why I encourage getting in tune with your own body and seek out information on your own conditions. Over the next few posts, I’ll share some info, lifestyle changes and resources that have worked for me and my PCOS.
