Nutcracker auditions are in full swing today ✨ We can’t wait to see all of the young talent that will be part of this year’s production!

DDTM’s ‘Dancer’s Hour’ is back! 💥 Join us for this intimate showing and cocktail mixer organized and produced entirely by the dancers of DDTM. Saturday, September 7 at our Palmetto Bay studios.

Join us for this special evening of dance in support of our 24/25 Season and ‘New Works Fund,’ followed by a mix and mingle with the cast and choreographers!

Experience rarely seen works by DDTM Artist in Residence Yanis Pikieris; new works by DDTM company dancers Selah Oliver, Emily Bromberg and Yanis Eric Pikiers created specially for this performance; and an encore excerpt of Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye's 'Resilience!'

Coming Up ✨ Audition for our annual production of 'The Nutcracker!' Be a part of this beloved holiday tradition at The Moss Center with dazzling costumes, Tchaikovsky's timeless score and professional dancers from Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami. Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 24 at Miami Youth Ballet:

10:00-12:00 pm
Students ages 13+ with 3 or more years of pointe work

1:00-2:45 pm
Students ages 10-14 and must be in level Ballet III & up

3:00-4:00 pm
Students ages 6-10 (Students must be 6 by October 1st to participate)

Introducing our Summer Workshops Week 2 faculty ✨ There are still spots open for this exciting week focused on Jazz, Contemporary and Modern dance!

🔹Kora Besteman
Kora began her training under the direction of Patricia Barker at the Grand Rapids Ballet School where she performed in works by Val Caniparoli and Penny Saunders. She is an alumi of Miami Youth Ballet and graduated from New World School of the Arts High School in 2022. She is currently pursuing her BFA in Dance at the University of Florida where she receives training from professors that have danced for Cuban National Ballet, Urban Bush Women, and Doug Varone and Dancers. Kora is currently the vice president of the UF Dance Student Council, and works to promote equity and diversity in the Gainesville dance community.

🔹Rafael Ruiz-del-Vizo
Rafael graduated from New World School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance, amassing over a decade of experience, he persists on refining his skills for movement research and developing original choreography. Rafael began his training at Showstoppers Studio under the direction of Susie Garcia and has performed professionally with the Cuban Classical Ballet of Miami and Dance NOW! Miami. Rafael is currently a dancer with Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami and helped establish Syncopate Collective, a community of artists committed to creating, collaborating, and performing; advancing the concert dance scene in Miami. As a choreographer he premiered his first solo work at the Perez Art Museum of Miami in Residency with Miami Dancemakers and The Moss Center.

🔹Eva Silverstein
Eva studied extensively at the Joffrey School of Ballet, The Paul Taylor School of Dance, and The Ailey School; she then earned her BA in Dance from Wesleyan University and founded her own dance company and non-profit foundation in 1998. For more than a decade, she toured with her company, Silver-Brown Dance, performing and teaching across the globe. As a master teacher, she has worked with dance students at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, the 92nd Street Y, Tulane University, Miami University, Tel Aviv Arts Collective, University of Buenos Aires, Perry Mansfield, Jacob’s Pillow, and many more. Her artistic ethos is informed by the legacy of her beloved mentors -- Jacques d’Amboise, Linda Kent, and Carolyn Adams, all of whom modeled the tireless pursuit of excellence, both on and off stage. As a dance educator, Eva believes in the universal power of the performing arts to uplift, inspire, and transform young lives.

🔹Emily Bromberg
Emily Bromberg grew up in Orlando, FL dancing at Rolann’s School of the Dance and Orlando Ballet. She continued her training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet and Boston Ballet School. Emily danced professionally with Boston Ballet, Festival Ballet Providence, and Colorado before joining Miami City Ballet where she performed for 11 years as a Principal Soloist. After Miami City Ballet, Emily spent a season performing Principal roles with the Slovak National Ballet and is now a leading dancer with Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami.

🔹Mayrel Martinez
Mayrel began her training at the National Ballet School in Havana, Cuba with acclaimed teachers such as Alicia Alonso, Fernando Alonso, Aurora Bosch, Loipa Araujo, Lazaro Carreño, Azari Plissetski, and Ramona de Saa, among others. In 2007 she joined the National Ballet of Cuba, where she danced there for ten years as a Soloist under the direction of Alicia Alonso. Mayrel joined Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami in 2016 as an inaugural member of the company where she continues to perform as a leading dancer.

🔹Yanis Eric Pikieris
Yanis Eric began his training with his parents, Marielena Mencia and Yanis Pikieris, at the Miami Youth Ballet. He also trained at Miami City Ballet School and with Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride at Charlotte Ballet. Yanis Eric joined Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami in 2016 as an inaugural member of the company where he performed as a featured dancer and is now the company's Resident Choreographer. As a choreographer, he has created several original works for Dimensions Dance Theatre of Miami's main stage series and is a two-time recipient of the Dance Miami Choreographer's (DMC) Program Award.
