”Sam and I was at Target store yesterday The couple near the cart didn't have enough money for their purchase. The lady in the green shirt started to hand things back to the cashier to be able to afford what she had. The lady in the black shirt came out from her lane and said you don't need to return anything I will pay for the whole thing. She pulled out her card and did just that. The lady in the green shirt started to cry. We all just experienced such kindness. What a great story to share amongst all this pain in he world.”

This man right here is one of my dearest friends. We met a few years ago when he was walking his dog past our office and I stopped him and had him join us for lunch.

He lived in a small house across the street that didn’t have any running water. ( this house was not live-able) We ended up buying that lot his house sat on and his home was demolished. 😭(not my choice)

BUT… I knew I had to help him and his dog find a place of their own. I set him up in a 5th wheel and handed him over the title.

Now I’m not telling this story for the good deed on my part but the extraordinary deed on his part. This amazing human has taken this gift and reached out to numerous individuals that were struggling and homeless. Not having much himself, he served and housed the homeless. His heart is as pure as they come.

There are SO many blessings this man has given but one of the biggest blessings has been our friendship.

When I see him, I not only see my friend but my family. I’m so proud of the lives he is changing.

I looked up from the dryer and noticed my man in the kitchen. I was switching over the 200th load of the day. I noticed him chopping onions and peppers preparing dinner for the next day. His boots still sit by the hall, fresh from a long week of work. He cuts and dices, I fold and sort. Together, we keep the house moving.

I stared at the back of his head for a while, the laundry still wet in my hands. I thought about how sometimes he cooks and I cut grass. Sometimes he gets up with the kids and I sleep. Sometimes I drive and he rides. Sometimes I work and he rests. I don't think there is a way to evenly divide the workload — I just know when it gets too heavy for me, my man always jumps in.

And that’s all that really matters, isn’t it? There’s no reason to keep count or record of chores.

Tonight, he cooks while I fold. And the load in my hands feels a little bit lighter."

On Thursday, as we boarded the plane, I realized I left my briefcase at the airport restaurant. Unfortunately, once you get on a plane, you cannot leave until you reach your destination. I immediately informed the flight crew about my situation. The crew asked me to describe the briefcase and instructed me to wait near the front of the plane. While I was trying not to panic, they asked if I would be a temporary flight attendant until someone found my bag. After a few minutes of greeting passengers, a hardworking crew member found my bag and delivered it to the plane. Thanks to the flight crew and pilots at Allegiant Air. They went above and beyond the call of duty.

"This is not just any man sleeping in his car, this is a Border Patrol Agent who in his days off headed to Houston and helped as many people as he could to evacuate with his own boat, taking additional days off from his vacation time to keep helping, staying up until 3:30am at times, with barely eating any food throughout the day, sleeping very little in 4 days, risking his life trying to save those people in need and not only people but 4 legged furry animals as well, and yet making it back home from Houston at 9:30pm and having to go to work at 10pm with very little sleep. This is love for his country...love to our American people, this is the commitment he signed up for. This is my best friend, my husband, my hero."

"This young man approached me and asked me to buy him a gallon of milk. My first thought was to say no but as I was paying for my gas I grabbed the milk. Outside was his girlfriend holding a box of cereal. He thanked me and I started to walk to my car. Something in me made me turn around. I told them I was about to get a car wash but if he wanted to wash it for me I’d pay him $20. We went to the nearest car wash and he had tears in his eyes after I paid him!

He told me that more than anything he appreciated me giving him the opportunity to be a man again in the eyes of his girlfriend and work for the money. The whole time his girlfriend helped him. It’s like she was proud of him. You could tell the love was so real. Real beyond material things and what he could do for her. She told him he did a great job and he couldn’t stop smiling. I had a long talk with him and her and he had a backpack full of paperwork from all of the places he’s been going to get help for them. I drove them to my apartment complex and gave him clothes for interviews and a few outfits and fitted caps. I don’t have much but life is about sharing what you do have.

Be a blessing to someone today because you could be in that situation before you know it! I gave them my number and I plan to take them to any interviews or appointments they have. It’s a great day to be alive no matter what your situation is. Someone has it worse than you! Share this message and inspire others to do good.”

The woman in the picture with a police officer is Helen Johnson from Tarrant, Alabama. She was caught stealing at a nearby Dollar General and the police were called to arrest her.

The surprise of all is when the police officer arrived at the scene and asked her what she stole, she said, "Five Eggs To Feed My Hungry Children.".

The police officer took her back to the supermarket and bought her groceries to feed herself and her kids.

Miss Helena started crying and asked the police officer, "Sir, this is too much for you have done for me...". The police officer replied, "Sometimes we shouldn't apply the law but must apply the humanity!". ❤

Little Boy With a Rare Condition Lived His Life in Fear, But Then He Met This 3-Legged Dog

In January 2012, an Anatolian Shepherd named Haatchi was not yet a year old when he was deliberately tied to a railway line in North London and hit by a train. His tail was severed and his rear leg severely damaged. Haatchi managed to stagger away and hid for around 5 days before he was rescued by the RSPCA.

Unfortunately, due to infection, his leg and tail had to be amputated. But Haatchi overcame the unimaginable and frightening act of cruelty to become the best friend and inspiration for a young boy with a rare genetic condition.

Eight-year-old Owen Hawkins has Schwartz-Jampel syndrome, a condition which causes his muscles to constantly seize involuntarily.

Before he met Haatchi he had agoraphobia and socially withdrawn. When Haatchi met Owen the pair bonded immediately and began to support each other. Haatchi’s effect on Owen was immediate.

Owen had been struggling with being different and became withdrawn and anxious at school and around strangers. But everything changed the moment Owen met Haatchi.

High School Students Give Single Mother Of 6 A ‘Life Changing Gift’

A single mother with six children has received a “life changing” gift from a group of high school automotive technology students after they gave her a vehicle that had taken them a year to restore.

Last year, Michelle Mendez had been struggling to find a home but thanks to Journey Home she found one. And now thanks to students at Louisa County High School and The Giving Words initiative she has a car.
Giving Words helps single mothers overcome crisis events such as car repairs that might otherwise unduly burden families. The organization was set up by Eddie Brown, a formerly single father. Rappahannock Electric Cooperative, donated $10,200 to Giving Words to help make this gift possible. Casey Hollins, a representative from the company told WVIR, “I can completely relate to the needs of this mother, and it’s a truly touching experience.” Hollins was a single mother herself.

For Mendez the car has lifted a weight off her shoulders. She can now get to work and better take care of her kids. “Having this car enables me to easily transport my children to their various commitments and ensures I can commute to work, allowing me to fulfill essential tasks,” she said.

She added that she is extremely grateful for the surprise gift. She said, “It’s been a real struggle. I sincerely appreciate everything that has made this possible.”

In 2001, Holly Shearer was just a teenager when she gave birth to a baby boy. Unable to take care of him, she had to give him up for adoption.

The baby boy, Benjamin Hulleberg, now 20, had always been curious about his birth mom. He tried to find her several times but had no luck.

Last year, white searching online, Holly stumbled upon Benjamin's page. She sent him a message for his birthday and Benjamin replied. When Holly texted back and explained who she was, his whole world turned upside down.

"This is the day I had been waiting for for the last 20 years of my life and to imagine that it was finally happening was outrageous. It was a lot to take in." Benjamin commented.

The two of them didn't want to wait any longer, so they met the next day. They chatted for a few hours and it turns out they both worked at HCA Healthcare's St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.

"Being able to sit down with my biological mom and just have coffee and talk before I go on my shift at the NICU? It's been amazing," Benjamin added.

Principal Decides To Adopt Troubled 11-Year-Old Student After She Gets Suspended

Every child deserves to be loved and deserves an opportunity to shine. That belief led Campbell County Middle School principal, Jason Smith, to change the life of Raven, a troubled 11-year-old student who had recently been suspended at school.

As Raven explains it, she had been sent to the principal’s office for throwing yoghurt on another student. What happened next changed her life forever.

“I found myself in the principal’s office one day after starting a food fight in the cafeteria,” Raven said. “The principal asked me if I would start a food fight if I were out to dinner with my family. When I blurted out that I did not have a family, he said he felt like a complete jerk. I was a foster kid living at Holly Hill. That conversation led him to have a conversation with his wife and the rest is history.”

Jason could see that Raven just looked defeated and hopeless and he could tell she needed something to go in her favor. He went home and discussed the situation with his wife, Marybeth. The couple had tried for years to have children of their own and had not been successful so they decided to ask Raven if she could be their foster parents.

“He and my mom went through training and became certified to be foster parents through DCCH Center with the intention of fostering me. They could not have kids of their own and something I said that day led them to know in their hearts that I was what their family needed,” Raven explained. “My mom says she always questioned why she could not have kids until the day she met me.”

So Raven moved in with the Smiths, admitting “it was really weird at first.” Jason and Marybeth fostered Raven for 2.5 years before they were able to adopt her, which they did as soon as they could. Now Raven is a junior in college and is studying to be a social worker.

For the Smiths, they could not imagine life without their daughter. And for Raven, she says her foster parents changed her life. “Being fostered by a great set of parents did not erase my trauma, but they provided me with an atmosphere where I learned how to work through it, believe in myself, and give hope to a hopeless kid,” Raven revealed to GMA.

For Jason it comes down to a simple philosophy. All kids regardless of age need to feel loved. “I really believe there are no bad children,” he told GMA. “Children are a product of their environment and the people who raise them, or who don’t raise them unfortunately, so given the right opportunity, given the proper support, love and affection, all children can be successful.”.

This is me coming home from an audition for King Kong where I was told I was too 'ugly' for the role. It was a momentous moment for me.

That ill-intentioned opinion could have shattered my dreams of becoming an actress or forced me to pull myself together and believe in myself.

I took a breath and said, 'I'm sorry you think I'm too ugly for your movie but yours is just an opinion out of thousands.'

To this day, I have 18 Oscar nominations.

A Nice guy!!!!

"On Sunday a woman in New York City accidentally threw out her diamond wedding ring. She realized it in the middle of the night, and did the only thing she could think of, she left a NOTE on the windshield of a parked garbage truck. When the garbage man got to work, he read the note, dug through tons of garbage, and FOUND her ring.

The driver's name is Gary Gaddist, and he went through the garbage HIMSELF. It took him about an hour, but he was able to find the garbage bag with paint rags in it and when he ripped it open, he found Danielle's ring! Here's a great picture of the two of them!"

"Following my appointment this morning to check on our growing baby boy, my husband and I stopped at Walmart in Evans to pick up a couple of things. As we were walking to the refrigerated section, we noticed a woman who had passed out and fallen on the floor. Being a registered nurse, my first instinct was of course to stop, assess, and be there to help. She had regained orientation, but did say she was on blood thinners and felt dizzy. So I stayed with her, along with her daughter and the Walmart personnel, until the ambulance came and tried to encourage her to stay seated. The Walmart staff was amazing. They kept in contact with dispatch as we waited on the bus to arrive. Then there was Jason. I don't know his last name, but this man, no questions asked got down on the floor with this woman and supported her back so she could lean against him. He literally got down on the floor to serve her, not because he was asked to do it, he wasn't, but because he wanted to. The media lately shows our country divided, filled with hate and racial tension, but this right here was one human being loving and serving another without condition of race or obligation. While we waited, another man stopped, knelt down and prayed over this woman. What I experienced today was love, kindness, and serving. We are human beings, each and every one of us regardless of how much pigmentation our skin has or doesn't have. I couldn't help but share because the media doesn't seem to report this... the unity and the positive that occurs. This right here is real life, this is what it's all about, not hate."

"This is a grateful shout-out to Corey at the McDonalds in Florence, U.S. off Exit 42 on Dixie Highway.

I pulled in around 11:59 p.m. needing a coffee after working on my business from 5 a.m. to midnight. I was worried if I didn’t get a coffee, I would fall asleep driving the hour home.

I pulled up in the drive thru and asked what time they closed. He politely says, 'Ma’am, we close in 45 seconds.' I replied, 'Well, that’s okay then. I don’t want you to deal with this old last minute customer. Thank you and have a good night.'

He replied, 'No, ma’am. I’m here to help you with anything you want on the menu. What would you like?' After going back and fourth, I gave him my Mocha Latte order. He was so very polite.

Most have said in the past, 'my machine is down,' or do not even answer at all when I’ve pulled up 10 minutes before closing. Corey was pleasant and had EXCELLENT customer service skills!

I WILL be calling to report this to corporate and to his local manager. I told him he probably saved my life allowing me to get that coffee...I jokingly laughed, but was also serious. I was so tired.

Thank You Corey for ending my long day with such kindness."

Today I decided to channel my inner teenager simply to annoy my 3 “young adults” who are home for the summer and who always leave a daily disaster in the kitchen. I’m so done with the self-absorbed mess.

So, I went to Sprouts this morning and bought lots of fruit and veggies, made a big, chopped salad, and left all the groceries and mess on the counter for the WHOLE day to see what would happen.

I just went to my room, locked the door, and watched Netflix all afternoon just like they do. I giggled at the comments I’ve gotten so far:

“Mom—what happened?”

“The kitchen is a total mess, what did you do? Where are you?”

“Are you coming back to clean this? Why aren’t the groceries put away?”

I’ve opted to continue my game and not respond to texts, and now I’m tempted to keep ignoring them and go out for drinks with friends for the evening. Perhaps I’ll stay out so late they wonder if I’m dead in a ditch somewhere.

So. Many. Possibilities!

****edited to add I also left a ton of my laundry piled on top of the dryer, and IN the dryer and IN the washing machine. All day. Because my son wanted to do his this morning, so he’s stuck waiting.

The man brought the four cards, the four boxes of candy, and the four sets of flowers up to the cashier for checkout. The cashier rolled her eyes at him as she looked at his wedding band and mumbled…”these players make me sick.” This caused everyone else to look at the man funny too.

So the man responded…”one set is for my mom because my dad passed away and he used to do this for my mom…and he taught me how to give love.

The next set is for my wife because I love her and she teaches me how to receive and treasure love.

And the third set is for my daughter…because it’s up to me to teach her how she should be treated and who she should give her love to.

And you can have my fourth set because I just wanted you to know that a man can show you love and understanding and not want anything from you. Have a blessed day.”

She melted and everyone else did too. just goes to show you don’t judge someone you know nothing about!!

Love this very true people!!!

The older gentleman in this picture noticed the younger one reading a book. And just sat down and asked him questions about the book and what his next steps are as far as his education and future. Then he took his information and offered him mentorship and opportunities. Now these two men don't know one another at all. But I share this because this is what's missing. This is not shown by media. Black men holding each other down to better the next generation. THIS is what needs to be done! It was amazing for me to see this on my train ride into work. Might not mean much to some. But to those that see will see the bigger picture, this is for you. Remember, "Each one, Teach one". Have a blessed day.

Hello Quora family and friends, I've received some scary and sad news. I'm in stage 3 of triple-negative breast cancer. It's the rarest form of breast cancer its the most aggressive and doesn't respond to treatment very well. I got a serious fight ahead of me. This pic is from yesterday's first dose of chemo. They said by the 3rd dose I'll be almost bald. This I's what's happening. Prayers, love, support, positive messages I'd love to have it all. I love everyone and thanks.

"In my hometown, this gentleman went and sat everyday with his wife, who suffered from dementia. She passed away last July.
Paul’s words about his wife, Martha:
‘We kind of grew up together because our families went to the same church, but I didn’t really start talking to her until I was in the Navy. We started writing each other when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor.
One day, a buddy of mine and I were walking around, and we came across a woman who was selling engagement ring sets. Well, I had no interest and neither did my buddy because, you know, we had no plans to get married any time soon; but that woman talked us into looking at the rings, and we ended up buying a set. I held onto mine for a long time while Martha and I kept writing each other; until one day, I just decided to mail the ring to her.
A few days later, I called her up and asked her if she got anything in the mail from me; and well, the rest is history. It was 57 years, last December. I came to sit with her every day and wave at the cars passing by. We’ve had a lot of adventures together—and she loved me through it all.’"

"I took Stella to Chick-fil-A today. It's our normal daddy/daughter spot. It's clean, so good, and the playground has a tractor beam on her the moment she sees it. When we finished eating and she'd worked up her dessert appetite playing with the other kids, we went back to trade in her toy for ice cream. She wanted to sit at a table to eat the cone (something we usually do in the truck), and I'm so glad she did. We took a booth right next to the spot where you wait for your drink to be "refreshed," and we had a front row seat to this beautiful scene: a homeless traveler had walked in and asked if they had any extra food. Mud was wet and caked on his well-traveled shoes. His hair was matted, and his beard wasn't a statement as much as it was a necessity and a sign that he doesn't get to shave as often as most of us do. People near him kept their distance, but that didn't stop him from being kind. He spoke to people who reluctantly spoke back, and he smiled while he waited on a manager. All I could pick up on of the conversation was the manager saying that he'd love to give him a full, warm meal--not just scraps or extras--, and the only thing he required was that the man let him pray with him.

After the homeless man agreed, there was no waiting for things to die down, there was no scooting anyone to the side. As busy as they were, the manager stopped then and there, laid his hand on the man, and proceeded to pray. I heard love in that prayer. The homeless man wasn't some untouchable stain on business. He was the reason that store opened its doors this morning (or any morning). I asked Stella to watch and she stared. She asked what was happening and when I told her, she bowed her head, too. I realized then and there that Chick-fil-A doesn't simply do business for profits, they truly use business to minister. In a time when companies are trying to win in the market by neutralizing any possibility of offense, CFA is thriving because they unwaveringly cling to their principles and purpose. I love teaching my daughter life lessons, and I also love being there to watch other Christians teach her life lessons. Thank you, Chick-fil-A, for taking care of the latter today."
