Beautiful! Park Ranger Edward Reis was in Evergreen Health Hospice in Kirkland— sad he had been unable to go outside due to his failing brought on by MS. Staffers kindly jumped into action, calling Snohomish County Fire District—with the help of volunteer firefighters, Reid was taken on a 3 hour final visit through Meadowdale Beach Park in Edmonds. They even collected cedar branches for him to smell 😭

For 3 beautiful hours, the firefighters carried Reid on his gurney through the forest. They would periodically stop at creeks and clearings to allow Reid to take in the scenery, and they even collected cedar branches for the ex-park ranger to smell. One of the park rangers said in an interview: “He was just smiling the whole time. He was saying he was so happy. He was incredibly grateful to us.”
