Truly one of the rarest cacao’s available on this planet, our Truly Raw cacao is just that—TRULY Raw!

During harvest, certain fruits are set aside and then fermented in cedar boxes, being turned and flipped between boxes regularly to keep the temperature well below 42°C. This encourages the live bean to start the process of germination, liberating enzymes to prepare the bean to sprout. We then dry the beans in the sun until just before they are fully ripened, when all the strength of the bean is still just potential. Finally, the beans are stone ground.

This meticulous process creates a purple-hued cacao with unique, nutty and fruity notes— a truly raw cacao with high nutrition and energetic profile.

Our Ancestral varietal is made with this very ancient and sacred stone-grinding technique has been passed down to us from one of our local Mayan Nana Abuela (female shaman). Before there were any beauty products available to the women, they would use a very specific and labor-intensive stone grinding technique that masterfully separated 5-10% of the naturally occurring cacao butter. From this product, the ladies could beautify themselves and hydrate their skin, lips and birthing bodies.

What we have found in utilizing this very special cacao blend is that, with just a small percentage of the cacao butter removed, we are able to receive the energies and healing benefits faster and on a much deeper level. We recommend this cacao for ceremonies and ceremonialists; it carries the deepest and highest energy complex for inner work. It’s more gentle on sensitive stomachs as well.
