ed, Inc. Anatar miTana is a new concept we promote based loosely on the Peer Bridger model started in New York fifteen years ago. What FOR-U is providing has never been done in this way before, but we are confident Anatar miTana can make a difference in the lives we connect with. Anatar miTana is for people who have a history of ending up in probate court for purposes of civil commitment. It is built on the foundation of Intentional Peer Support (IPS, Meade, Hanson, et al) and brings in other national and in-state agencies to inform the project. Pat Deegan, Peggy Swarbrick, Darby Penney, PRCH and Connecticut Legal Rights Project are a few of the trainers we have lined up. Anatar miTana will provide outreach and engagement, and peer support in the community to individuals, some of whom may be hard to reach. We support them by establishing connection, using active listening, exploring and learning about their worldview and co-creating meaningful relationships. Each individual is supported in identifying what is important to them, and as determined on an individual basis, connecting with community, natural resources and other supports, including supports for all of their mental health and health needs, if desired. Anatar miTana will:

• Provide outreach and engagement, and peer support in the community, hospitals, emergency rooms, jail or any place necessary to support the participants’ stated needs.

• Support each person in identifying what is important to them and as determined on an individual basis, connecting with community, natural resources and other supports including supports for behavioral health and health needs, if desired.

• Provide participants with supports and/or act as liaisons to persons and/or systems as identified as needed by the individual and provide community outreach, develop relationships with community resources and supports. Provide support for participant directed action steps and other such services as may be appropriate, to accomplish the purposes of the program.
