Sometimes I find I really enjoy making messes. Especially a messy palette and this weathered pot full of watercolor geraniums. ♥️🥰

Different brush, different vibe 🤍

Since white florals already challenge me, I decided to make these daisies extra complicated by using a dagger brush instead of my everyday round. NGL, it pushed me. There were effortless moments surrounded mostly by struggle. 😅 But I think that's where muscle memory has to stand aside and allow artistic intuition to flow. It's also where mistakes and victories teach us and grow us as artists.

So while this new piece is messy and wild, I love it! I love it as much for its chaotic nature as for how much it stretched me and allowed opportunities to learn. 🥰

Quick little painting this morning. Just what I needed 😌

A few highlights from my Valentine's Day 💕

There were more, too, like a family game of charades and live guitar background music. The best of all - my hospitalized father-in-law has improved suddenly and almost unexpectedly (as far as the doctor's concerned). But we know that God is able to resurrect dead hearts as well as sick bodies. Thank you, Jesus, for your joy in all circumstances! 🙏❤️

And for any of you who pray, I'd like to ask for your prayers for my dad. He's 5-6 hours away in an ER for chest pain and super high BP. He has a history of heart attacks and bypass surgeries. But I know that faith moves mountains, and we have access to ALL the healing of heaven.

This was a complete delight to paint today. No worries about mistakes and imperfections, just joyful play.

I actually planned never to post this. I deleted the video and everything. Then I saw the photo of it today in my phone, and well, here we are. Loose watercolor poppies and yellow flowers 💛 ♥️

Seemed like the perfect day to share an art rock 💛🪨 🤍

Still needs varnish, but oh what a joyful little painting! I hope with everything in my heart it finds it's way to someone in need of cheering. That it will bring hope and joy, and delight someone's heart ❤️

Full disclosure, the flower on the far right turned into a blobby mess from too much water 🤣, but no worries! I simply added more golden yellow for a bit of definition on the petals. I also lost some dark portions of the khaki centers, so I went back and dotted more in at the bottoms of those centers.

Note to self - Just a bit more drying time between each step 🥴 But also, I kinda like the more abstract feel the imperfections lend 🥰
