The Milford Police Department would like to alert the members of our community about an ongoing scam utilizing fake jewelry. In many instances a random person will attempt to sell fake jewelry or use sleight of hand to steal a victims pre-existing jewelry off of them.

Through our investigation we’ve noticed that the incidents in Milford and surrounding communities have many similarities. The suspects are believed to be Eastern European in decent and are either driving a vehicle with out of state registration plates or have someone waiting for them in a vehicle with out of state registration.

While our investigation continues, we ask that our community be vigilant. If you are approached by someone on the street to selling jewelry or attempting to put an item on your person please call 911 immediately.
