It’s the dedication for us! So proud of our Cambridge SLeadership Team for attending a 3 Hour Leadership Intensive with Dr. Tim and Taylor Watts this week at Riverwood Charter School. Thank you to Dr. Koperniak and Fulton County Schools for organizing such a thoughtful and impactful experience that will help strengthen the high school programs for years to come!

****NEW STAFF ANNOUCEMENT****

The Cambridge High School Band welcomes Corey Watkins as the new Director of Percussion. Corey brings an extensive wealth of knowledge as a performer and instructor at the world class level. As the Director of Percussion he will be working with the in class percussion ensembles, marching percussion, and the Cambridge Indoor Drumline.

Corey Watkins is an educator, percussionist, and arranger from Asheville, North Carolina. His teaching career started after his time performing with Western Carolina University’s “Pride of the Mountains” marching band from 2015-2017 and his independent performance career with The Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, Matrix Performing Arts, and Atlanta Quest. In addition to taking over the Percussion Director position with Cambridge High School, Corey is a bass drum instructor with The Cadets, and serves as the Visual Coordinator with Atlanta Quest. Corey has also worked with the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps from 2018-2020, World finalist WGI ensemble Cap City Percussion in 2019, and various high school programs in Ohio and North Carolina.

“We are excited and looking forward to the new era that Corey will bring for the Cambridge Percussion students”, says Director of Bands, Daniel Scott, “He’s a dynamic educator, and a welcome addition to the Bears Staff”. Corey begins as director with the Cambridge Marching Band as the program embarks on a historic season. In November the Cambridge Marching Band will attend the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana for the first time in school history!

CONGRATULATIONS to our HISTORY MAKING Cambridge Winterguard on performing for the first time tonight in a Winterguard International Regional event as a FINALIST at the WGI Huntsville Regional!!!!

Cambridge High School Winter Guard is proud to announce their 2024 program, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.

Join us on a visual journey back to our childhoods. We pay tribute to the gorgeous artistic illustrations and story telling of famous artist, Eric Carle. Nature’s most common yet loveliest marvels, the metamorphosis of the butterfly, brought to life by the beautiful performers of the Cambridge Winter Guard.

The Cambridge High School Winter Guard is under the direction of Jordan Fleming. The 2024 Design and Instructional Team includes: Jordan Fleming, Cody Segers, Andrew Devries, Tyler Edrington, and Molly Favret. Additional support is provided by the Cambridge High School Director of Bands, Daniel Scott and the Cambridge High School Band Boosters.

•Set Design and Digital Designs by Tyler Edrington and Molly Favret.

Cambridge High School will be competing in the Scholastic A Class, performing locally in the Southern Association for Performing Arts (SAPA), and nationally at the Huntsville and Atlanta WGI Regionals.
