Spring Orchestra Concert: Markwald Piece
During the Spring Orchestra Concert on May 6, the DSHA Divine Strings performed “August,” an original piece composed and written by Ella Markwald, DSHA ‘24. The original piece was inspired by her brother, August, and written in early March for the full instrumentation of the Divine Strings Orchestra including parts first and second violin, viola, cello, piano, bass guitar, saxophone, and percussion. “I’ve experimented with writing and composing for a while, but I’ve never taken any classes, though I hope to in college. It was super cool that we were able to play it for an audience. I learned how I can improve my writing skills and what I can do next time.” ~Ella Markwald, DSHA ‘24 Congratulations to Ella on this incredible accomplishment!
