I don't know if any of you remember but last year I photographed two shows on the same day at two different venues. I said I'd never do that again because it was exhausting. But then again, I say that a lot about concerts. Anyways, last night I photographed two shows at the same venue and they both started at the EXACT same time. I don't know how I did it but I made it through to the other side. I might be a little insane.
I love what I do and it's been almost exactly one year since I started working for The Rave. I couldn't have asked for a better place to work towards what I've dreamed of doing for over a decade.

Hi, Iβm Carrie Bergan.
Bit of basic background information, I'm adopted from Nanning, Guangxi, China. I have been raised and living in the city of Chicago for my entire life. I currently a BA in Visual Communication Design, concentration in Graphic Design. So far, I have interned with Elise Parsons Designs and Illustrations, completed some small freelance design projects, and participated in photography shoots.
Now to how did I get into art, design, and photography??? I was first introduced to photography just taking pictures on my iPod Touch 4 in 2012. In 2015, I took a graphic design course at school, the following year, I took photography and learned how to shoot on a DSLR. Just a few months into the course, I purchased my first camera, a Canon Rebel t5. I graduated and started off pursuing a teaching degree for English while continuing as a photographer on the side. After two years of studying to be an English teacher, and struggling, I switched to Visual Communication Design. It took me a few extra courses taken throughout the two summers, but eventually, I finished that degree and that it brings me to today, where I am hoping to land that entry level job as a designer.
As I mentioned, besides graphic design art, I love photography and have been shooting on team Canon since late 2015. I continue to learn more about video, animation, and sound & lighting tech as I believe those are some important assets to know as a visual artist.
