to my oldest brother Tim. ***deawareness

Many of you may know this but my oldest biological brother, Timothy White, allegedly hung himself at precious age of 12yrs old when I was just 10 in a South Milwaukee,WI Foster home. My focus this month is on Foster children who commit su***de awareness in Foster care.

Timothy was, like me, a ward of the state of Wisconsin. This means the State has assumed the roles of Mother & Father. In our case, we were, all 5 of us siblings; crack babies in Milwaukee,WI during the drug epidemic and had a Father and a Mother who were no where to be found. We were abandoned. The anxiety of the circumstances would tear the family apart, as it did, but the tragedy of his su***de ate us all alive.

Most Foster children who commit su***de feel hopeless, unloved, unimportant and long to have what everyone else considers to be a normal life. Most Foster children who do commit su***de ,due to confidentiality, die unheard of and alone. These are fallen soldiers in life’s ambush without a hand to hold on too.

Educate yourself on the epidemic within the Foster care system nationally and if you wanna light a candle everyday for all of the silence souls who take their lives as children.

You never get over a su***de as a surviving sibling especially after the harsh conditions of the Foster care system in 90’s. Join me help raise awareness.
