GET IT OUT THERE is a biannual concert series spotlighting the bold voices of emerging and established artists in the greater Milwaukee area and Midwest. From innovative choreography and captivating performances to vibrant music and screendance, this series celebrates new and daring works. Join us on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, for two concerts at the Danceworks Studio Theatre, where fresh talent meets creative expression. Presented as part of the Danceworks DanceLAB series, this event promises a night of artistic curiosity.

We’re excited to announce the official launch of Danceworks Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Dance in partnership with Dr. Alexander Ng from Marquette’s Department of Physical Therapy. Dr. Ng began researching the benefits of dance on persons with neurologic disease in 2013. His 2019 research study, “Ballroom Dance for Persons with Multiple Sclerosis: A Pilot Feasibility Study” found that social dance in various ballroom styles improved quality of life, cognitive function and MS Functional Composite Scores in persons with MS (PwMS).

Join us Friday evenings from 7:15-8:15pm this October to experience this incredible collaboration.

Danceworks Intergenerational Performance Company (DIPC), is a company of community dancers with a desire to explore movement and performance. The company is made up of participants spanning several generations and a shared passion for movement. For Over 30 Years, Danceworks MKE has been a staple in Milwaukee’s arts and culture scene. This year, Julieane Cook took over as executive director of the dance performance and education organization. “I am thrilled to be joining Danceworks at this moment in our history because of the strong foundation we have to continue bringing joy, health and creativity to the community,” Cook says.

GET IT OUT THERE is a concert featuring new work created by Milwaukee and Midwest performing artists from various disciplines. Artists who submit a proposal and are selected will showcase their work on Saturday October 5, 2024 at Danceworks Studio Theatre.
