Thank you so much to everyone who helped us celebrate the relaunch of Public Allies Cincinnati last weekend! 💛 Check out @PublicAlliesCincy’s page to learn more about how you can support the program and incoming cohort! #REPOST from @PortonEvents ——— I had a great time working with @PublicAllies @PublicAlliesCincy to create 3 distinct events as part of a Relaunch Weekend. Through a pop up Meet and Greet, program reception, and reunion celebration, I curated spaces for engagement with each other and to the work while supporting local businesses with a special lens to MBEs and SBEs. As an alum and former Director of the program, it was an honor to support a mission that’s been so transformative to my own life. Meet Karen from the Institute of Cultural Affairs USA and hear her thoughts on the value of a partnership with @PublicAllies! Since our founding in 1992, we’ve partnered with hundreds of values-aligned non profits across the country in service to our mission to create a just and equitable society and the diverse leadership to sustain it 🤝 To learn more about how your non profit can benefit from hosting an Ally, please visit the link in bio! — #REPOST from @PublicAlliesChicago — One of our partner organizations, the Institute of Cultural Affairs has hosted many Allies over the years. Karen Snyder, Program Coordinator, shares her thoughts on the partnership with Public Allies. She speaks highly of the Allies who have stepped through the doors of the ICA like current Ally, Sierra Johnson. Some of these Allies made such an impact that they were hired on after their apprenticeship came to an end. If you, too, would like to make an impact, either as an Ally or Partner Organization, then please check out the links in our bio for more information. Meet Jayna Gagner (Public Allies Chicago '14) ⚡️

Meet Sierra Johnson (she/her) (Public Allies Chicago '23 & '24) 🦋 She currently serves at Institute of Cultural Affairs USA as a Program Assistant. At her placement, she's been engaged in advocating for sustainability and carbon-free initiatives. Recognizing the urgency of addressing the climate crisis, Sierra has worked to integrate these priorities into our advocacy efforts and organizational practices. One of her key responsibilities this year has been organizing an Earth Day event that highlights sustainability. This event aims to bring together community members, environmental advocates, and leaders to raise awareness about environmental issues and take action. Alongside the ICA team, Sierra will highlight local businesses and organizations that are leading the way in environmental stewardship.

An incredible #MLKDayOfService with Public Allies Arizona ❤️🧡💛 #REPOST from @PublicAlliesAZ —— Phoenix area Allies joined the 8th Annual MLK Day of Celebration & Service put on by the City of Surprise, helping prepare emergency food bundles and feminine hygiene packs. 🌟 The day continued with inspiring local musicians, performers, and speakers as we honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy through acts of kindness and community engagement. Tucson Allies joined other @AmeriCorps members from throughout Tucson at @TucsonVillageFarm for their 15th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service Day event. Allies helped form a new orchard, painted decorative rocks and furniture, and packaged seeds for this urban farm and healthy living center that fosters life and leadership skills in young people through agriculture, culinary education, outdoor adventure opportunities, and community engagement.

Reflecting on 2023, one of our biggest learnings is that the work and values of Public Allies is needed in our country now more than ever. When our democracy is threatened, we need to work even harder to make Public Allies programs more accessible to ensure that everyone can lead. This work isn’t possible without the support of each and every one of you. As a nod to this commitment to creating a more just and equitable society, The Public Allies National Office will be closed for the remainder of the year to allow our team to honor our 10+1 Leadership Action of cultivating and preserving the times and spaces necessary to play, rest, rejuvenate, and heal. Our offices will reopen on Wednesday, January 3rd. On behalf of the Public Allies National Office, we wish you and yours a very happy holiday season! We can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store! ❤️🧡💛 video credit: Public Allies Wisconsin

Check out this clip from RootDown LA, one of Public Allies Los Angeles' Partner Organizations in South LA. Currently, RDLA hosts four Allies, including Alex Michel who created this reel! 🤩🧡 #REPOST from RootDown LA —— RDLA goes canvassing! Canvassing is one of the ways we are able to connect with our community. While we go out around South LA, we invite community members to our garden, learn what they want to see in the community, and what they may want us to grow. Thank you to everyone we are able to meet on our latest outing. Big shout out to our South LA community! ¡RDLA sale a sondeo!
