Guest Preacher: Rev. Dr. Jia Starr Brown
Musical Artist: The Hurst Family.

Sermon Title: “Missing Prison”
Scripture: Exodus 14:10–15 (NRSV)

10 As Pharaoh drew near, the Israelites looked back, and there were the Egyptians advancing on them. In great fear the Israelites cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us, bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Is this not the very thing we told you in Egypt, ‘Let us alone and let us serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness.” 13 But Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid, stand firm, and see the deliverance that the Lord will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to keep still.”
15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to go forward.

Current theme: Finish Line Faith.
Sermon title: I Almost Lost Heart.
Series: Finish Line Faith ( Part 2 )

Scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.

Good morning beloved!

We are experiencing a power outage in and around the church’s neighborhood and as a result cannot stream our 11 a.m. service at this time.

We will keep you updated on changes to the situation. Thank you and God bless you.

Are you currently watching a fish die?

“How often in this life do we watch something or someone in the throws of death and destruction, merely watching from the sidelines, wide-eyed with concern, but yet do nothing meaningful to intervene? We think it’s not a big deal and is none of our concern. Or, we dismiss it because, well, bad things happen and we all have to die at some point. Or, in this case, we wait for someone else to do it.

Speaking for myself, I know I was challenged, convicted and forced to rethink about my faith. I don’t want to have just a form of it. I want it to be one of action, where if I ever have opportunity to intercede beyond just sitting on the sidelines praying, that I have the boldness to get up and just do it. Much like those two young ladies yesterday.” ~

This is an excerpt from our 9 a.m. sermon on last Sunday by Dr. Karen McKinley!

PS: We currently do not stream service. Our hope is that we can achieve this in the near future.

We could use some more volunteers on our multimedia team. Please check the serve tab on our website to join.
