Wife, Widow, Now What?

Donate at the and literally save lives. I’ve been donating platelets the past couple years and love to help out and give back for all of the blood products my late husband received. This book is knocking my socks off and making me want to write my second book. Daily I’m strengthened and surprised by God’s GRACE and Promises. I’ve come a very long way in the past 11 years and cannot believe I did all I did. It blows my mind. Thank you Jesus.

11 years ago today my viewpoint of the world shaped and shifted. I wouldn’t say that colors dulled or disappeared, I’d more say that sometimes the cheery hues of pinks, oranges, yellow and purples like the sky- took longer to see at times. God’s Grace. I’m only still breathing and here after all I’ve been through because of God’s grace. .

We each have a canvas. Sometimes it gets splattered with colors and designs. Other times we get to not only pick the colors, but the exact hues. I’m thankful for God’s grace to work with what I have been given and what I’ve chosen. What can you choose to color your canvas?… what is your ability to take those designs and colors to create into your own masterpiece?- it is up for grabs!Lately I’ve had a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that I’ve been married before,,,that I’ve been through a cancer battle, that I’ve survived a whirlwind of grief and loss. It’s almost been 11 years. Time, time, time and God’s consistent comfort and peace has allowed this. I’m so very grateful.

Life is more chaotic I believe, the older we get. Aging parents with health challenges, our own bodies not doing what we’d like and/or health scares (at least in my case with my chronic issues)…..so many external forces that cause us to shift and rearrange what we may have had planned. It’s oh so very true that God laughs when we make plans. He has the master plan. He’s amazing through it ALL. The love, the laughter, the tears, the pain, the loss, the joy……. This is the most snow we’ve had the entire winter- falling right now. The miles I travel by car to get to those I love far away, and daily and by foot here at home, out and about and on the treadmill at home or at the gym…..all bring me back to the same point- trusting God. Without that…I don’t know who I am. The blanket and wonder of this snow makes me grin. Thank you Jesus.
