Kicked off the holidays at my home away from home, the 318 Cafe, this weekend.
As always, Dan Lawonn elevated things with his incredible musicianship. And hearing a new Christmas song from Bonnie Jasicki was the cherry on top!

Cookie and I are settling into our new digs in Mpls.
It’s been a minute since I lived in this city. It feels good and familiar and also completely new and foreign after being in the suburbs for more than 10 years.
I wrote a new Christmas song on the first night in my new home. It’s called ‘Christmas Chrysalis’. I may extend this period to reflect my winter chrysalis, which feels more accurate.
If you want to hear the new song, come to my shows at Parley Lake Winery on December 15th & 16th.
Here’s to pit bulls in sweaters, walks in the cold and music to soothe our hearts.

I spent the weekend in Missouri having the best time playing for Holly and Jason and some of their friends.
Jason reached out to me about playing a private concert to celebrate their anniversary, and of course I couldn’t refuse!
I love playing private concerts. They’re a fun change up from the usual.

I really needed last night.
I put more thought and practice into it than I have in a long time.
I wanted to reconnect with that passion that my younger self had.
I didn’t want to phone anything in.
I wanted to present something fresh and inspired.
It was everything I hoped for and more.

When I played at Parley Lake Winery last summer, my dog had just died and I didn’t know yet that I had Covid. It was rough.
But today? Today I feel like a million bucks and am so ready to play with my friends tonight and see all your beautiful faces.
