This Star Tribune headline is harmful, irresponsible, and misleading. When reporting on cases where an adult abuses a child, language must be explicitly clear. It’s not “s*x,” “s*xual contact,” or “a s*xual relationship.” It is s*xual abuse and s*xual violence. And, every article about s*xual or domestic violence should include a hotline. Together with Violence Free Minnesota, we call on media to report ethically on s*xual and domestic violence.

We will keep saying it as long as we keep seeing harmful headlines like this. A teacher abusing a student is not s*x. An adult abusing a child is not s*x. Using the term "s*x" implies consent where there can be no consent. WCCO & CBS News Minnesota, we urge you to report accurately and call this what it is: s*xual violence.

Black, q***r singer/song-writer Tracy Chapman won a Grammy award for "Fast Car" back in 1989, telling the story of a couple trying to build a life together amidst economic hardships. "Fast Car" communicates that excessive reliance on others for an improved future might result in disappointment, accentuating the importance of self-sufficiency in confronting life's challenges, and that rising above poverty is not solely about hard work.

In 2023, the song made a resurgence seeing Chapman become the first Black woman to top the country music charts and wining the Country Music Association's Song of the Year.

Did you know that play isn't just fun and games? It's a powerhouse for your child's motor skills development! 🚀 Building a block tower isn't just about height; it's about constructing dreams and unleashing creativity. Kicking a ball isn't just a physical act; it's a dance of imagination, coordination, and goal-setting (literally!). Encourage, play, and watch those motor skills reach new heights and distances.

Honored to be a guest designer for Target to help bring this year’s Pride collection to life. My inspiration for this design comes from nautical flags that symbolize that together, we are “all” finding our way in this big colorful world. In addition, I’m thrilled to see the partnership continue with GLSEN, which leads the movement to create affirming, accessible, and anti-racist spaces for LGBTQIA+ students. https://ecs.page.link/5CM44 Target
