We were very fortunate to coordinate a visit to Accha Alta with Mary Anne & Jody, founders of Cultural Cloth in Maiden Rock WI ( in the beautiful Driftless) Women doing meaningful and significant work with artisans from over 30 countries. If you haven’t been to the shop, plan to! In Accha Alta, Nilda and the CTTC family, have helped the weavers preserve their ancient techniques, their work exudes the antiquity of their ancestors.
Fifteen years ago Engracia spent a month with me in MN, she was the best roommate ever! Her love of weaving with her favorite Indigo color continues to amaze. Craft preserves culture.
During this small ArtAndes travel group, it’s been fun to revisit some places I haven’t stayed at for awhile. The last time at Willka Tika was in 2010, during that stay, the owner Carol, commissioned our rugs for the lodge, 13 years later of many guests, they look great!
My morning walk to the chapel in the Sacred Valley. 🙏 prayers for world peace
I still haven’t gotten around to designing an ArtAndes t-shirt, but a Mill City Market T was worn proudly by all! The Mill City Market has been a great support for weaving and cultural preservation for the past 17 years. Then off we went on a field trip to see the North American birds migrating to the south, with Soled as our excellent guide. We were missing part of the family (Wilber, Enrique & Jamie) But we did have a great adventure to the Pantano Nature Preserve
Samuel dying Chilca for the beautiful greens of the ancient Sacred Frog design, repeating this rug, being woven by Rolando for Anne & Phil
Samuel dying chilca for the lovely greens to repeat this historic design for Anne & Phil.

Stenciled architecture
The 1860’s 3 hole outhouse has been raised a foot and will be sitting on cement pads soon! Since the city told me to tear it down 25 years ago, I’ve been slowly saving it ever since😇 Jeff’s amazing skills at lifting old buildings sure has worked its magic, just one more little barn to go!
Celebrating Estevens 10th cumpleaños and his first in the US, and Rosa’s new job at the best restaurant in St. Paul, Cafe Latte!!! They believed in her, they offered her a career, they gave her hope!Cafe Latte treats their employees with respect and kindness, they treat them as family, they care. Our refugee familes are close to their 6month marker here in MN. They are working, going to school, and making our lives better❤️🙏🏻
