BodyTalk

From Ballroom to Ballet and Modern to Mime, what happens when you bring dancers and movers of different genres together for one show?

A fusion of fun dance ideas and movement stories happens. Rebecca Abas director of BODYTALK Dance Group, and last year's Fringe show Train Stories, has combined a new potpourri of artists to create this year's show. Justin Carlson of The Christopher Watson Dance Company brings a new ballet flavor. Lisa Vogel, Ballroom competitor and coach flys solo. Emily Knotek's Irish country dance keep her feet

This Thursday November 2 at 6:30 pm Rebecca Abas & Dennis Yelkin, aka BodyTalk: an improvisational dance duo, will be performing as part of a trio. Gabriela Sweet will be playing her favorite Cuban boleros and American jazz standards on resonator guitars. We 3 will co-create a program of improvisational dance and music. We will shift what we do in the moment as music responds to movement, and movement to live music.

We are honored to be part of the Hennepin Theatre Trust salon series (900 Hennepin Ave., downtown Mpls). The event is free and open to the public. Doors at 6; we play 6:30-7 p.m. All the Pretty Horses follow. Cash bar, art, dance, music... what's not to like?
