First Nations Kitchen

We are looking for hands this Sunday both on Prep shift 12:30-3 pm and Give Away shift 3:30-5:30 pm! It’s our 16th Anniversary serving as First Nations Kitchen and there will be cake involved! The sign up link is in our profile.

We need some more hands to help us on Prep/Set Up 12:30-3 pm and on the Give Away 3:30-5:30 pm this Sunday! St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Edina MN has a good base of volunteers coming. We had a good cooking morning in the kitchen thanks to Austin, Charmaine, Pete and Andy! Thank you each of you!

Morning at FNK began with Teng bringing in beautiful vegetables and herbs that he grew on his farm. This offering is a generous gift of . This community values the work of farmers and ministries that make excellent whole fresh food available to those in need.

Thanks to our awesome volunteers from we got a start on harvesting the seeds from the beautiful Algonquin pumpkin squashes gifted by ! The seeds will go back to the farm and First Nations Kitchen will roast the pumpkin meat for our indigenous meals!

Thank you to for bringing these Algonquin pumpkins to our kitchen this morning! We will mindfully harvest these seeds to return to the farm and will prep the pumpkin flesh (roast) for our indigenous meals! This is partnership with community at the heart. ♥️

Thank you to our volunteers on Prep/Set Up from St. Anne’s, St. Mary’s, St. Stephen’s, and Trinity Episcopal churches! We had wonderful family groups today!

So grateful to have farmers Wana and Teng bring such fresh, gorgeous produce to us this morning! Thank you, farmers! Thank you to for providing us with this quality food and for supporting the wonderful farmers! Farmers work hard and we love them!

Deconstructed bison cabbage rolls here! So delicious: ground bison, charred organic cabbage, caramelized onion, roasted carrots and potatoes, farro, garlic, fresh parsley and sage! Michael Florey is back in the house, helped by Andy, Pete and Cathy! Don’t miss this great meal today To Go pick up from 4:00-5:00 pm. Also lots of produce bags ready!!
