The product was very exciting and served as a key engagement tool for our team of activists and volunteers in Iowa and across the nation. The Buzz360 team went above and beyond to work with our team and activists to ensure all parties were comfortable with the platform, and to help in developing engaging content and calls to action that were measurable and deliverable.

When we defined a need, Buzz360’s team worked hand in hand with ours to develop and implement solutions quickly. In one particularly demonstrative case, we needed to further segment out voters being contacted to ensure precinct captains were contacting the voters in their specific precinct. The Buzz360 team helped to develop data-matched affinities for this purpose, saving countless hours of cutting individual universes and streamlining the strike-list process.

Today, the American Association of Political Consultants announced this year's Pollie Award winners, the premier awards competition for the political advertising industry. Buzz360 received the Pollie for Best Use of Mobile Technology. We thank the AAPC .

We are excited to be a finalist for the Campaigns and Elections 2023 Reed Awards in two categories. The two categories are Best Use of Technology for GOTV and Best Use of Mobile Technology. Here are the details:


GOTV & Field > Best Use of Technology for GOTV

CO-07 is a D+7 district, and Erik Aadland outperformed all expectations. His performance topped Donald Trump and Mitt Romney. Using SwipeRed, he increased the conservative turnout by 25.7% compared to 2018. They motivated 25,442 more voters to vote than had voted in 2018 and added 2,000+ voters to the voter roll. 97% of all new votes were for Aadland. Regarding total turnout, Aadland added 7.3% to the votes cast compared to 2018 and increased the Republican turnout by 25.7%.

Mobile > Best Use of Mobile Technology

During the primary using the SwipeRed Relational Organizing App, volunteers shared 290,562 messages, touching 23,792 unique voters multiple times. Aadland won with 33,945 votes. In the General, the volunteers shared 1,149,177 messages with their friends and peers. Aadland’s highly successful grassroots campaign created the highest voter turnout of any race in CO and motivated the highest Republican voter turnout since 2014. They added 2,175 new voters to the voter roll through relational outreach.

AADLAND FOR CONGRESS - CAPTURING SUPPORT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY BY MESSAGING AND PEER-TO-PEER TEXTS


Eric Aadland is running for Congress in CO-7. Going into the primary, it was considered a close race between the 3 candidates.

Aadland for Congress’ campaign strategy was based on a robust, high-touch grassroots organization with Friend to Friend and Peer-to-Peer Messaging.

The challenge? How to reach voters in a fast and effective way to turn out voters. So along with in-person tactics, the Aadland campaign adopted SwipeReds’ cost-effective all-in-one outreach.

SwipeRed automatically syncs advocates' personal contacts to the app, and advocates can easily send text and email messages to those they know best from the app. SwipeRed played a key role in Aadland's victory. Using the Friend-to-Friend efforts, the campaign was able to identify nearly 1,000 voters, not in the voter file. SwipeRed had a 62% adoption rate!

The campaign team created curated messaging with localized information for voters, allowing volunteers to contact their friends and other voters swiftly. The campaign also took advantage of SwipeRed's events and data capture forms functionality to drive voters to the events and stay in touch with them after the event. Coordinators in the campaign kept their operations running smoothly by using push notifications to motivate volunteers to send messages and send progress updates.

All these efforts allowed the campaign to maximize the contributions from volunteers from across the district. Through SwipeRed, Aadland’s campaign volunteers messaged 23,792 people and sent 290,562 messages.

Thanks to the support of over 80 Aadland advocates and the power of peer-to-peer texting and relational organizing, Aadland led a highly successful grassroots organizing campaign and secured 48% (12pp more than his closest competitor) of the votes to win the primary.
