Annual reminder to remove and re-grease your bottom bracket (+seat tube)! This bike was one of the 🍀 lucky ones... after a week of customer applying a penetrating lubricant, and an overnight soak of deep penetrant by us, we used two long breaker/extender bars 😤 on the infamous J. A. Stein Co. removal tool and finally got this corroded cartridge bearing bottom bracket out of the frame! #winteriscoming #greaseyourseattube #greaseyourbottombracket #steintool #bottombracketremoval
Ride report: this might be the only photo we snagged at the group ride today. And this is also **just about the time** when a chain dropped off its gears, BUT(!) that was the ONLY mechanical our group suffered on the ride, and we were equipped with THREE PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS to save the day! 🚲 A couple of big, rolling south Minneapolis hills caused very mild accordioning 🪗 of the group. The 🌳🌲 shade and snack boost at the park helped us ⚡️ re-energize to traverse a couple of laps at the @mplsbikeparks Skills Park, and explore the nearby forest forts before heading back to the shop. Thanks to @surlybikes for creating some very cool long tail cargo bikes that are built for distance, comfort, and hauling capacity! And BIG THANKS 🎉 to all of our riders for spending the afternoon with us today!
