James, with the help of his dad, Bill, came in over three weekends to build up this beautiful Surly Straggler. He even took our wheel building class for these Velocity Atlas wheels built on Shimano XT Hubs.

Last, but definitely not least, this Worker-Owner Wednesday highlights Lisa! Lisa is our Oak Street Shop Operations Coordinator. Her Surly Pugsley is a perfect all purpose bike that’s served them well for going on 5 years.
SAVE THE DATE! We’ll be hosting a celebration of the Hub’s 22 years on September 28th in the courtyard between our Minnehaha shop and Moon Palace. There will be music, food trucks, and finals sales happening in the shop. We’re looking forward to holding an event to honor all the emotions that come with our closure and reflecting on all the Hub is and has been ❤️ Music guests to be announced soon.

You know what day it is. This Worker-Owner Wednesdays we’re featuring Jens and his Salsa Vaya! Jens is also out the Quality Control Coordinator at the Hub. Seems that we’ve got a majority Chaotic Good alignments on our team.
Starting today, all new and used parts and accessories are 15% off! Bikes are still at 10% off and apparel (aside from our new shirts) is 35% off.
We did one final run of T shirts before we close at the end of September. They feature an old griffin logo on the front and a stylized version of our motto, All Kinds of Bikes for All Kinds of People, on the back. This weeks Worker-Owner is David! With 25 years in the industry, they’re a certified bike nerd through and through. David’s Fuji SL Elite Frame is customized to the max and has taken them on many adventures.

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means, time to highlight another Worker-Owner here at the Hub! This week we’re introducing Cristina and their Surly Traveler’s Check. Cristina is also the Education Coordinator and often the mechanic helping out with Study Hall on Saturdays!

Both the Oak and Minnehaha shops are filling up for repairs. Our repair queue is closing on August 31st, which means we’re not scheduling repairs after that date. Call for more info or bring your bike in for an estimate and we will let you know if we have time for the repairs you need.
Don’t forget we also have Study Hall every Saturday (except for Sept 7th). This is an opportunity to work on your own bike with the help of an experienced mechanic! You can reserve a spot on our website or stop in from 3-6 on Saturday.

We’ve collected donations to offer scholarships for our classes at The Hub. We can cover up to the full cost of our classes for those who need financial assistance. Check out our website to see the classes we have coming up and send us an email to apply for aid!

Hello Friends, Customers and Neighbors of The Hub, we are sad to announce we will be shutting our doors at both the Oak St and Minnehaha locations on September 30th.
We are grieving this decision but we don’t wish this to be a somber event. We are honored to have served the community and to be your inclusive, cooperatively owned, values-driven local bike shop over the last 22 years.
We thank all who shaped the Hub.

Have you had a chance to stop by any of our study halls this summer? If so, what did you think? If not, you still have a chance! We’re holding study hall from 3pm-6pm tomorrow and every Saturday in August.
This is a new offering, as of this summer. Folks can reserve bench time or walk in day of. Benches are assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
Study Hall offers time to work on your own bike while a dedicated certified mechanic is available to answer questions or offer advice, as needed. This is also a perfect spot to practice your skills after taking one of our classes. Link in bio to reserve a bench.
Bike repairs can seem so confusing. But we’re here to help!
Check out the classes we have coming up. Our Education Fund is now available to provide scholarships for folks who are seeking financial assistance.
