Creating handmade ceramic fish wall hangings since 2006
Catching sunfish off a dock in summertime are some of my favorite memories. My friends and customers often share their own stories about sunfish with me - there are some serious fish tales out there!
Memories like these are part of the reason I enjoy making these ceramic sunfish.
Here are a few from my recent firing and thanks for taking a look.

One of my favorite childhood memories is catching sunfish off the dock with my cousin Steve.
I was fascinated with the colors and the form of the fish and the excitement of catching them was a perfect pastime on those endless summer days.
Now I get to create fish out of clay and sunfish are still some of my favorites. The forms and colors remind me of those wonderful summer days.
I’m excited to share these fresh from the kiln sunfish. Visit my Etsy shop to see these fish and more!

I enjoy making sunfish for so many reasons. I love the forms, I test how different glazes look together, and they remind me of long summer days fishing off the dock.

The walleye is serious business here in the land of 10,000 lakes. It is the state fish because it’s delicious, prevalent, and fun to catch.
We have monuments , festivals, and roadside attractions dedicated to the fish. Our neighboring states also have great walleye fishing but Minnesotans proudly boast about the walleye fishing.
I create four ceramic walleye forms and they are each 16-18 inches long - (well within the slot limit. Haha) they have hues of amber and green with nice surface details.

When making these ceramic fish wall hangings, I experiment with different glazes to create a mixture of realistic and artistic interpretations.

Sunfish are versatile, fun, and important in my process of creating ceramic fish.
I get to apply fun glazes to the forms to create realistic and whimsical results.
Their varied small sizes are perfect to place around larger fish when filling a kiln.
They add unique and colorful art into different decors and environments.
