We are excited to have started this build-out project for one of our customers in Maple Grove this past week. Framing and rough-ins full steam ahead. Thanks to Pope Design Group for the teamwork and quick turnaround on the design side. We’ll be sure to share more progress photos as we continue.

Attached are photos of a project we recently finished at the end of November that had a fast-tracked schedule required due to owner lease arrangements tied to relocating into this facility. This project had its challenges and consisted of demolition of a 2.9 acre site, complete interior demo of 25,539 square feet of existing office space, demo of 6 new overhead door openings into the existing CMU bearing walls, erect 10 tons of structural steel for tie-in of separate roofs after structural demising walls were removed, removal of 35% of all existing floor slabs for new underground plumbing, new interior footings, all new stoop footings and foundations, 7 new RTU's with associated distribution ductwork, new gas main service to the building. We were able to complete the build-out of the new 25,460 square foot facility and site re-development (new storm sewer, lot lighting, fencing, curb/gutter asphalt paving) in 73 working days before winter set in too hard. Big thanks to everyone involved, it takes a team willing to work together to make projects like this successful and that includes subcontractors, city inspectors, public utilities, design professionals and the like being accommodating of substitutions as needed in effort to hit the required turn over date.

Construction is complete on one of the Circle K stores currently in progress. This one took just 5 months to complete. This project involved demolition of an existing building, construction of new 6,700 square foot convenience store, and development of the 3.71 acre site. Thanks to Circle K and all trade partners involved!

It's a busy time for footings and foundations! These progress photos are from the site cameras of 7 current new construction projects going on this year. Hard to believe that we are already at a point in the year to be planning for final asphalt lifts of the season, and getting site concrete and curb & gutter poured prior to cold weather.

We wanted to share a quick introduction to Mike Bednarek, one of our job Superintendents. Mike has 36 years of experience in commercial construction. He utilizes his strong communication, attention to detail and thorough documentation to ensure project completion in a timely manner backed by great quality. If you have the chance to meet him on a job, make sure you are prepared for a border battle discussion being that he is a Green Bay Packers fan - you’ve been warned!

Last week we were lucky enough to take home the award for Minnesota Subcontractors Association Superior Safety Program for the second year in a row. In addition to this recognition, we received our certificate from the AGC commending Zero Incidence Rate in 2022. Thank you to the Minnesota Subcontractors Association for putting together such a great event every year, we love being a part of your great organization. Thank you to our entire team for your commitment to safety each and every day.

Meet Kyle, one of our more recent superintendents to join the D.J. Kranz team. Kyle brings a variety of new construction and remodel experience with him. With a background in the concrete industry, he demonstrates a thorough attention to detail. He prides himself in strong communication and treating everyone with respect and professionalism. Marissa brings experience in multiple construction markets through projects of all sizes.

Here is a sneak peak at a local hotel lobby remodel we are wrapping up. Appliances are going in and then café shelves will be stocked for guests.

We recently completed this 8,000 square foot renovation of vacated tenant space into a new clinic that supports spine corrective surgeries. All work was carefully performed while the existing C-arm and MRI spaces were in use. This project encompasses x-ray, exam rooms, administrative, nurse stations, patient lobby and general office areas.

Please join us in congratulating Julius Webster as he begins his exciting chapter of retirement. Julius was employed at D.J. Kranz for the last 29 years. He was instrumental in the success of our healthcare team as well as development of our up-and-coming project managers. North Memorial Health has been seeing patients at one of our recently completed projects in Blaine. This 52,000 SF clinic took us 5 months to build-out. Services include primary, specialty and urgent care along with infusion space, fitness center, CT, X-ray, Lab and space for a future MRI suite. Thanks to everyone who participated to make it happen! Demo is complete, wall and ceiling framing is about done and drywall finishing is well underway. Great progress at these past couple weeks!

Wall framing is wrapping up at this ambulatory surgery center build out. MEP rough-ins will continue and finishes will be following not far behind.
