When your client is a lot taller than you..

A beautiful blonde for this pretty girl, simple, bright and just what we need with the extra ☀️ and warmer temps!

Can you believe that a few months ago this same head was a box died black hair!?

Was it easy? Nope.
Was it pretty? No, lots of warmth and red before we got here.
Healthy? YES! Because we did it over multiple sessions, she followed the at home regimen I had her do, we only cut once because the ends would NOT lighten because of her previous box color.
Cost? The first session took 6 hours and I charge hourly for a color correction. After that she came in for a second correction, another 6ish hours. Then we did just full highlights, lowlights and toners in 3 hour appointment times.

Have you been thinking of getting “hand tied extensions” but are confused by all the terminology floating around?!
Extension terms can be confusing - even to those who wear them or have had extensions in the past. Lets dive into those terms, so you can better understand what I’m talking about and what to ask for!

HAND TIED: Hand tied is not a method, but a type of hair. Each weft is tied by hand - this allows the hair to be flexible, thin and delicate - making this the perfect hair for fine haired guests (You can NOT cut a hand tied weft!)

Other types of hair include volume wefts and machine wefts.

WEFT(S): This refers to the individual pieces of extension hair. Hand tied wefts are meant to be brick layed and stacked to creat customized colors and density. You should not have more than 6 wefts per row.
Machine wefts can be cut to the length needed for each row, and can also be layered for more density.
Volume wefts vary depending on the brand. Some can be cut and some are hand tied double wefts.

ROWS: A row refers to the completed section of wefts sewn onto the track. The most common amount of rows is 2 (for volume and length), but you can have anywhere from 1-3.

TRACK: This is the foundation that your wefts will be sewn on to. There are many different methods to create your track, including braiding and beads with or without the use of thread (I do not offer braiding as a track method).

METHOD: This is how your wefts are installed. There are many different techniques to create a row and track. They each have different names depending on the brand and the instructor/educator. Some examples are: Waterfall Beaded Row (WBR), Luna Method, Natural Beaded Row, Seamless, etc. I am certified with EasiHair Pro (EHP) using the WBR method and currently finishing certification and offer a seamless method created by Hairtalk as well. I hope to finish two more certifications in 2022 to offer you!

Hey, it’s me! Who loves some good textured hair!? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I used my wand and 3 barrel irons - alternated small sections. Hair spray before and after, then viola 🙌🏻 for me this will last a day or 2 and will restyle easily!
