Another successful SCI Peer Group BBQ in the books! Eleven SCI people and 3 ABs! It was great with quads helping quads! Of course we discussed bowel, bladder, and sexual function while eating! Shout out to Alex Mitchell and Joey Carlson for their help. Huge thanks to Jon Carlson, grill master! We dodged a few raindrops and ate inside but did get some time outside before and after the rain!

Abby is a past recipient of the adaptive fitness scholarship! We wanted to highlight Abby and what the scholarship has meant for her. She shared the below:

My name is Abby Minor. I live in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. I am currently doing Stayfit at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute in Stillwater. I graciously received a fitness scholarship which was helpful for my Stayfit program using the Exso Skeleton once a week and working on core and upper body strengthening. The Exso Skeleton has helped me gain some strength back, and my core is getting stronger. I still have a long way to go but the scholarship helped me financially. Keep going, never give up and stay strong.

Our adaptive fitness scholarship is now open!!

Scholarships will be awarded in $2500 amounts to selected applicants for use by an individual living with a spinal cord injury (from IA, MN, SD, or WI) towards participation in one of the Minnesota's adaptive fitness programs. You have until 5/31 before the application closes!

It was a great day for a cookout on July 8th! Thank you Courage Kenny Golden Valley for letting us use your patio! 30 people enjoyed burgers, brats, hotdogs, chicken, salads, chips, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate rice crispy bars, and lemonade. It was great seeing friends and meeting new friends! Also, special thanks to grill master Dillon and to Mariah for making sure everyone was fed!
