Rep. Dean Phillips

When my team met Linda and heard her story, we knew we had to act. People living with disabilities deserve to travel safely and with dignity, so we successfully amended annual FAA legislation to make air travel more inclusive and accessible. Airport adult changing tables are now the law of the land thanks to this amazing Minnesotan's advocacy.
Check out Linda's story and ask yourself, what change can YOU inspire?

Being a father is one of the greatest joys of my life. Now, millions of Americans are seeing their dreams of being a parent crushed as IVF is stripped away.
Americans have the freedom to choose how, when, and if they start a family. It’s time we codify access to IVF and pass the Access to Family Building Act.
Shock, anger, confusion grip Alabama after court ruling on embryos Throughout Alabama, there is widespread shock, anger and confusion over how to proceed after the state Supreme Court has ruled that frozen embryos are people.
Good to see so many amazing Food Allergy Research & Education advocates in Washington last week, including Adina herself. Bipartisan support for our common sense bill keeps rolling in. Here's to making medicine safer for all!
Federal push for allergen labels on medicine has a Minnesota connection Whether prescribed or over-the-counter, many medications don’t list if they contain a major allergen, like dairy, eggs, peanuts or wheat.
You're welcome in my office any time! Thanks to all for an engaging conversation.
As members of Congress, it’s our duty to ensure America’s national security and our collective personal security - and the risks of misinformation and misuse of personal data is subject to malign actors both home and abroad. Regulation of apps, social media platforms, and artificial intelligence is absolutely necessary, but should only be initiated after intense debate, deliberation, and consideration to ensure it keeps us safe while not impeding our constitutionally-protected freedom of speech.
Politics Friday: The fate of a sports betting bill and a TikTok ban March Madness is upon us, so it’s a perfect time to check in on sports betting legislation at the Capitol. Who wants it, who doesn’t? Plus, a look at the proposal in Congress to ban TikTok if it doesn’t get a new owner.
I’m among 181 Members of the House of Representatives, all Democrats, to have signed the Discharge Petition to bring the Ukraine aid bill to the floor for a vote.
What is a discharge petition? How House lawmakers are trying to force a vote on foreign aid The rarely successful maneuver would allow a majority of House members to bypass leadership and force a vote on the foreign aid bill.
Have passport needs? The Minneapolis Passport Agency is hosting Congressional Passport day this Saturday, March 23rd from 8am to 12pm CST. Minnesotans can apply for routine or expedited service during the event, and travel plans are not required to sign up (no same day printing is available)!

Thrilled to celebrate my constituent, Keenan Jones, who attended as a guest of First Lady Dr. Jill Biden tonight. When we incentivize public service, we prepare a new generation of leaders to build resilient communities. Glad to see President Biden honoring such a fantastic individual and initiative.
I’m not wishing you a happy International Women's Day, I’m wishing you an ACTIVE one. Since I took office in 2019, women’s healthcare rights have been under unprecedented attack. We must enshrine protections for Roe V. Wade into our constitution once and for all. Let's get to work.
During his State of the Union, President Biden addressed the Supreme Court's decision that ended the constitutional right to abortion, which said that "women are not without electoral or political power."
"You're about to realize just how much you were right about that," Biden said of the women who have gone to the polls in the wake of the Dobbs decision.
It's just common sense!
EDITORIAL | Add allergen labels to medications The ADINA Act, which honors a Maple Grove girl, would remedy a vexing oversight. The nation requires food labels to list major allergens, but the same standard doesn't apply to prescription drugs.
Paul Elmstrand. Matthew Ruge. Adam Finseth. May their memories be a blessing to their loved ones, to our state, and to our nation.
Sending all my gratitude to the remarkable kids and teachers from schools across our community for making heartfelt valentines for our veterans. Let's all follow in their footsteps by honoring our veterans through acts of kindness and lots of gratitude all year long! ❤
I read the intelligence today and one thing is clear: Republicans and Democrats America must re-unite and re-commit to strengthening our national security. Peace is possible with bold leaders who prioritize deterrence and diplomacy. Let's get to work.
I'm always so impressed with the projects Minnesota students submit for our annual app competition, and this year was no exception. Thanks to all who participated, and kudos to Ananya for her amazing technical skills AND commitment to giving back to our community! I'm here in Washington, voting (again!) against the impeachment of the United States Homeland Security Secretary at the same time Speaker Johnson is refusing to bring up a bipartisan bill that would address the circumstances for which he's being impeached in the first place. Come on.
With a bipartisan deal in hand that would strengthen U.S. national security and support our Ukrainian, Israeli, and Taiwanese allies in their defense against dictators and terrorists, I’m appalled that Speaker Johnson has chosen –for the second time since October 7th – to politicize aid to Israel, by separating it from crucial U.S. national security priorities like aid to Ukraine and Taiwan, humanitarian assistance to Palestinians, and southern border security.
I refuse to be party to such disgusting and irresponsible antics and will be voting against the GOP’s cynical charade.
While the Senate supplemental agreement is far from perfect, it has been painstakingly negotiated by senior leaders on both sides of the aisle. The compromise is strong, fair, and exactly how responsible government should operate. The American People want and deserve leaders who work together to make the hard decisions necessary to keep us safe. Instead, Speaker Johnson and the House GOP are more concerned about Donald Trump’s interests than our national interests.
Since the October 7th terrorist attack in which Hamas, an Iranian-backed terror organization, killed 1,200 people and kidnapped more than 200 hostages, Israel has faced increasing threats to its existence from Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iranian proxies in Iraq and Syria, and the Houthis in Yemen.
In a world at the precipice of disaster, the United States must not allow Putin to win in Europe, the People’s Republic of China to end democracy in Taiwan, and Palestinian people to be denied desperately needed humanitarian aid.
Regretfully, Speaker Johnson appears to care very little about our security, our future, and our responsibilities - and prefers placing politics above principal.
Moving forward, the United States must use every lever available to invest in peace around the world, ensure security for Israel, recognition and investment in a demilitarized Palestinian state, protection of our allies on every continent, and national security here at home.
House to vote on standalone Israel aid bill, setting up showdown with Senate House Republicans are proposing a $17.6 billion bill for Israel that doesn’t include any aid for Ukraine, as Senate plans wider funding for border security and aiding foreign democracies.
The Articles of Impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas are nothing more than House Republicans' haphazard attempt to distract the American people from their failure to mount a serious legislative session. I'm in Washington preparing to vote against this political sideshow tonight, and invite my colleagues to place principle over politics and join me in pursuing meaningful immigration reform that will keep our communities safe and economy strong.
Legal experts counter GOP claims that Mayorkas broke the law Republicans plan to take a historic vote Tuesday to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and have focused their central argument on claims he has broken immigration law. But a rev…

Members of Congress are elected to serve the people, not their pocketbooks! My friend Congresswoman Angie Craig is right, let's vote on a stock trading ban and require all Members of Congress to do what I've already done voluntarily: place their tradable assets in a blind trust.

Brooklyn Park initiative offers alternative to police response to mental health crisis calls The Brooklyn Park Police Department partnered with Hennepin County and North Memorial Health to launch a mental health Alternative Response Team which consists of a social worker and a paramedic who can handle calls police officers may not need to respond to.
I'm with Congresswoman Angie Craig, Minnesotans deserve answers (and timely mail delivery)!
I'm joining fellow New Democrat Coalition members to urge Speaker Mike Johnson to put national security ahead of petty partisan politics. It's long past time to negotiate in good faith on a bipartisan solution to humanely secure our southern border and reform our immigration system.
New Dems have prioritized working across the aisle to secure our border, stem the flow of fentanyl, reform our immigration system & address the labor shortage.
Today, we're calling on Speaker Johnson to finally join us in working on this critical issue.
We strongly disagree with the Prime Minister. A two-state solution is the path forward.

I agree! That's why Rep. Jason Crow, Congressman Dan Goldman, and I introduced a resolution to honor U.S. Capitol Police, whose actions in the face of tremendous personal danger helped preserve an over 220-year, unbroken tradition of democratic transitions of power, and permanently designate January 6th as Democracy Day in America.
Annual observance of Democracy Day would help ensure that the American People never forget how fragile our democracy is – and the vigilance required to maintain it.

In our Common Ground Workshops and my shifts On the Job, Minnesotans and business owners have taught me that America doesn't have a health care system. We have a sick care system. It's bankrupting us, producing terrible outcomes, and it's time for an overhaul.
Representation begins with listening, but also requires action, so today, I'm announcing that I have signed on to Medicare For All. A transition to universal health insurance isn't just the right path, it's the pragmatic and financially sound one. The money is already in the system, we just have to spend it on people, not profits.
I'm grateful to Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal for her leadership and look forward to working together to bring health care costs down and outcomes up - for everyone!
Phillips Backs Medicare for All WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) signed on to H.R. 3421, Medicare for All.
