Jamaica celebrates it's Diamond Jubilee
(60th year of Independence) this year with the official kick-off celebration being hosted at our premier Cultural Center on May 5th. This year's theme: "Reigniting a Nation for Greatness".

Our Elected Officials, County and State representatives as well as Government of Jamaica delegates were present to share in the festive moments.

Rhythms of Africa showcase at the Amphitheater at Miramar Regional Park was a perfect kaleidoscope of music from Africa and its derivative nations augmented by sounds of hits from iconic musical artistes, Marcia Griffiths and Gramps Morgan performing some of their songs.
This showcase was spearheaded by the Embrace Music Foundation in partnership with the Office of Miramar Mayor, Wayne Messam, under the distinguished patronage of the Consul General of Jamaica, Oliver Mair, and is among the activities celebrating Jamaica’s 60th anniversary of independence this year.
The Mayor, along with Commissioner Alexandra P Davis presented keys to the City to Marcia Griffiths and Gramps Morgan .
