We couldn't let National Intern Day go by without recognizing our great summer interns, Ben and Nadalyn!

They have been working diligently all summer, contributing to projects, gaining valuable experience, and continuously learning. They'll be returning to Ball State University, and will be greatly missed by our entire team.

Today, we are celebrating the one-year work anniversary of our interior designer, Marie-Noelle!

Marie-Noelle is not only a talented designer, bringing vision, passion, and dedication to each project, but also a wonderful coworker who enhances our office culture and is always ready to lend a hand.

Happy Anniversary, Marie-Noelle! We are truly fortunate to have you on our team and look forward to many more years together!

Kamm Fest is tomorrow! This is a great, local event hosted by the Mishawaka Business Association that we look forward to each year. This year, the event will feature a car show, bands, local food vendors, axe throwing....and friends!

Project Highlight: Bremen Library Addition and Renovation

Bremen Public Library recognized the need to reconfigure their space to continue meeting the community's needs. After over 30 years without a significant update, their facilities lacked the capacity to offer modern library amenities most utilized by patrons.

The goal of this project was to create a destination that attracts people from all walks of life, both near and far, offering essential resources and programs to the community. To achieve this, an addition was built to expand the children’s department, including a craft room, story-time space, and storage, and a dedicated young adult space is now available for teens. Interior finishes were also upgraded to support new technology, enhance patron experience, and better utilize the space.

We were thrilled by the progress at Wellfield Botanic Gardens, so we decided to take a team tour on Friday.

Exciting developments are happening quickly, allowing us to see details such as the nearly completed pavilion and the glass installation in the visitor's center. There's still much work to be done, but everything is coming together beautifully!

Project Highlight: Tippecanoe Lake Country Club Renovation

As Tippecanoe Lake Country Club approaches its 100-year celebration in 2026, they aimed to upgrade their facilities to continue offering an exceptional experience for members and guests. Following a member survey and thorough market research, renovations to the lower-level dining and bar area was identified as the top priority to launch this initiative.

The revitalized space now boasts a range of modern amenities, abundant natural light, stunning lake views, and multiple dining options. These enhancements are designed to create a welcoming atmosphere and provide an elevated experience for TLCC members and their families.

This project is a great example of another successful collaboration with Ancon Construction. Thank you, Ancon team!

Exciting updates are underway at Wellfield Botanic Gardens as the new pavilion begins to take shape! Once finished, this pavilion will provide an excellent outdoor venue for concerts, annual events, and various community and private events held at the gardens.

Thank you to DJ Construction and Mid-Atlantic Timberframes for their partnership and collaboration on this project. It’s thrilling to watch this beautiful project come to life!

The Mishawaka Market kicked off a new seasons today, featuring a variety of local vendors offering everything from homemade treats to fresh, locally grown produce. It's always great to see the unique ways our completed projects are utilized and the community they support!

We want to give a big "thank you" to Shortcakes on the Blacktop for this delicious mid-day treat! It was even sweeter knowing we were supporting an annual fundraiser for local services.

Arkos Design is pleased to announce the addition of Dane Wallace to our Architectural Design team.

As a recent graduate with a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Ball State University, and a Master of Architecture from Indiana University, Dane brings his expertise to the design team, working closely with our Project Managers to provide support in the development of design concepts, presentation materials, and construction documents.

Outside of work, Dane enjoys traveling to explore the architecture, urban design, art, and history of cities around the world. He also dedicates time to painting and creating art as part of his studio practice and collects model trains as a hobby. Additionally, he serves as an associate board member for Indiana Modern.

Many of our local libraries have terrific outdoor spaces and courtyards that seamlessly connect people with nature, providing the perfect setting to dive into a new book.

Our interior design team had the opportunity to meet with our partner, Purposeful Design, to review updates to their stunning hand-crafted furniture.

We always enjoy catching up with their team and left inspired with ideas for future furnishings that will add the perfect finishing touches to many of our projects!

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness have protected the freedoms we hold dear and ensured a brighter future for us all. We are forever thankful for their selflessness and commitment to safeguarding our freedoms.

Project Highlight: Morris Park Country Club Renovation

Morris Park Country Club envisioned offering more amenities for both current and prospective members. One of the primary objectives was to create an inclusive and engaging environment for families. This vision led to the creation of several family-oriented amenities, such as a new six-lane swimming pool, a pool house for concessions and outdoor events, a modern fitness center, and a dedicated teen activity space.

Additionally, the renovation also enriched the experience for golf enthusiasts with the introduction of golf simulators, a new pro shop, and an expansion of locker facilities.

Recognizing the importance of dining experiences, the dining facilities were enhanced to accommodate various preferences, offering a cozy pub area, family-friendly dining options, and a formal dining area for members.

Since the completion of this renovation, Morris Park Country Club has solidified its position in the community as a premier destination for both existing and new members. The club hosts a variety of events, such as weddings, wine dinners and community gatherings, showcasing its beautiful and versatile event spaces.

We'd like to extend a special thank you to Ancon Construction for their invaluable partnership in bringing this project to fruition!

Phase 2 of the Plymouth Public Library renovation is almost complete, and we can’t wait to share the final results with you.

This phase features a fully redesigned area for the Children’s space, Young Adult, and a new Tween area along with updates to the large meeting spaces.

Today is National Love a Tree Day, and we couldn’t think of a better day to share our love of nature…specifically trees, or highlight our talented landscape architecture team, Darla and Chris!

Darla and Chris are passionate about the preservation and inclusion of trees on project sites as a important part of their strategy to improve the built environment. For example, when designing the new Corby Hall building and site, they took great care to avoid any impact on the 200+ year old, uniquely shaped Sycamore known as the “Hand of God” (first picture below). The building's location was chosen to protect the tree's branch width, and the site design ensures no improvements encroach on its root zone. Before construction began, the tree's canopy was thinned to reduce branch weight, and it was treated with hormones to minimize stress. Years later, the Sycamore remains healthy and thriving, a testament to their commitment.

It was a great day at Arkos Design today as we got to take part in our annual Kentucky Derby Tradition with Philip's delicious homemade Derby Pie and refreshing Mint Juleps!
