Earlier this month, we introduced you to Whitney Evans and Brandon Bixler, the two students we are following for our first ever documentary, which will premiere on National Day.
This week, let's meet the cooperating teachers who are mentoring Whitney and Brandon during their student teaching experiences.
Whitney Evans is finishing her student teaching experience at Western Hills High School in Frankfort, Kentucky. The district's agricultural education program is led by three agricultural educators:
Back row, from left to right:
Jeff Shaffer, who has been agricultural educator for 21 years, has taught at Western Hills High School for the past seven years.
Jenna Burke, who joined the WHHS teaching staff in 2020. Jenna is a graduate of Western Hills, and did her student teaching experience at Locust Trace Agriscience Center in Lexington, Kentucky, where she had Whitney as a student.
JR Zinner, who has taught at WHHS since 2000. JR specializes in animal science, agricultural mechanics, and aquaculture.

Our students have an ambitious semester ahead; they are planning to host hundreds of high school students on campus, facilitate essential leadership development workshops for FFA members across the state, and engage in targeted professional development for their future careers. These events offer crucial learning experiences for both our current students and prospective students/FFA members but also require financial resources to make them successful.
To offset the costs of these endeavors, we are hosting a fundraiser by selling customized LED signs. These eye-catching LED signs would make a great addition to your classroom, serve as a fantastic gift for program supporters, or even function as an officer gift.
Product Features:
Each LED sign comes with an LED base offering a choice of 16 LED light colors.
A USB power cable is included for your convenience.
A remote for easy operation.
The signs can be powered by the supplied USB cable or by 3 AA batteries (not included).
Special Offer:
Orders of 5 or more of the same LED signs will receive a $5 discount on each sign.
How to Order:
Follow this link to place your order: https:bit.ly/CFFAOrderForm
By purchasing one or more of these LED signs, you are directly contributing to the enrichment of our students' lives, as well as the many high school students they will positively impact through their educational and leadership programs.
