Thanks to support from the Bulldog family, a new WWII memorial was recently unveiled at MSU and can be found outside Nusz Hall, home of the G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans.

Today we take a moment to remember and honor on the lives of the 2,403 men and women lost in the tragic attack on Pearl Harbor 82 years ago.
We honor the brave service members who - with the horrors of Pearl Harbor weighing on their hearts and the hopes of humanity resting on their shoulders - answered the call to defend freedom during World War II.
Thank you to all who have served and are currently serving to protect the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day. Happy Veterans Day!

As we approach Veterans Day, we want to take a moment to look back at the history of this day.
Yesterday was a very special day. We had the honor of welcoming current and former servicemen and women, campus faculty, and students, as well as President Dr. Mark E. Keenum and many others as we unveiled our brand new World War II memorial at Nusz Hall.
Sid Salter, VP for Strategic Communication, shared the story of his father’s courageous service to our nation on the beaches of Normandy. President Dr. Mark E. Keenum and Colonel Brian Locke both shared about personal connections that make this memorial special to them and to our campus.
Thank you to all of our donors who so graciously gave in support of this project and thank you to everyone that attended.
Today we take a moment to recognize every service member who has yet to come home. We thank them for their sacrifices and continue to hope for their safe return.
Join us Monday, October 2nd to celebrate the unveiling of our newly installed WWII Memorial at Nusz Hall!
The ceremony will begin at 1:00pm and there will be a reception immediately following. We are so thankful for all of the donors who came together to make this installation happen and we want you to be there to help us celebrate!

Over the last two days we have had the privilege of hosting Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention officials from all over the state of Mississippi. They spent their time touring campus, hearing from our staff, and having conversations about how to better support military-affiliated students all across the state.
We were also honored to have Dr. Jeremy Baham receive an Excellence in Action Milestone Award on our behalf. It has been a pleasure to see recruiters and officials from all over the state come together with the common goal of improving the educational experience of military-affiliated students at every institution in Mississippi.
We received a very exciting delivery yesterday… This has been in the works for a long time and many people have come together to make this happen.

Our graduation cord and award ceremony was a huge success and we are beyond proud of all our Veteran graduates and award recipients! The CAV wishes nothing but the best for all of those leaving MSU this May and we are looking forward to seeing all you can accomplish!
